This is a flashback from a 2014 article by Lee Cary – There is something just creepy about a candidate for President cackling in giddy joy about anyone’s brutal death.
Hillary Clinton thought it was funny when Kaddafi died. Who’s laughing now?
In this 11-second video, then Secretary of State Clinton laughed about the fall of Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi, saying, “We came. We saw. He died.”
This video displayed the killing of Kaddafi that Hillary found so funny:
Today, over three years later, Libya, the nation, has degenerated into complete chaos.
The U.S. mainstream media largely lost interest Libya after Gaddafi’s death. It was “Mission Accomplished” from the new bureaus’ perspective. On to the next big story.
But a British outlet, The Independent, in an article entitled “Three years after Gaddafi, Libya, is imploding into chaos and violence,” reminded its readers that Libya, the nation, still existed. And it warned that, “Without a central government without any real power, Libya is falling apart.”
“A striking feature of events in Libya in the past week is how little interest is being shown by leaders and countries which enthusiastically went to war in 2011 in the supposed interests of the Libyan people. President Obama has since spoken proudly of his role in preventing a “massacre” in Benghazi at that time. But when the militiamen, whose victory NATO had assured, opened fire on a demonstration against their presence in Tripoli in November last year, killing at least 42 protesters and firing at children with anti-aircraft machine guns, there was scarcely a squeak of protest from Washington, London or Paris.”
On Saturday, July 26, 2014, Libya re-surfaced in the U.S. mainstream media, for the moment, as this headline, replicated across several U.S. news outlets, announced that the “US Evacuates Embassy in Libya Amid Clashes”:
“The United States shut down its embassy in Libya on Saturday and evacuated its diplomats to neighboring Tunisia under U.S. military escort amid a significant deterioration in security in Tripoli as fighting intensified between rival militias, the State Department said.
“Due to the ongoing violence resulting from clashes between Libyan militias in the immediate vicinity of the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli, we have temporarily relocated all of our personnel out of Libya,” spokeswoman Marie Harf said.”
So who’s laughing now?
But then, what difference does it make –now – anyway?
