(I think he wrote a book about it). Hardly a “gotcha,” though I can see how a political campaign might promote those facts to try to undermine his standing with people who would be bothered by them.
“Obama was not born in the US and is a Muslim” is a lie (well, two lies) and, though widely reported, is still a lie. . . . . . . . Yep, still a lie now. So it could be used by a campaign whose plan was to lie to the American people.
Agreed that is NOT what the birther movement claimed. The birther movement claims those two lies are God’s own truth. Even if President Obama was a Muslim that doesn’t mean he can’t be President. In fact, in the 1820’s Pastors and Historians claimed the first 6 President were atheists or agnostic.
