VIDEO : Professor Norpoth Says Trump Has 87% Chance of Winning in November

Professor Helmut Norpoth from Stony Brook University told Lou Dobbs on Tuesday that Donald Trump has an 87 percent  chance of winning in November.

Norpoth is a political science professor at Long Island’s Stoney Brook University.

His model has been correctly predicting the popular vote since 1996.This

This 2016 forecast  is based on a model that tracks cyclical movements in American presidential elections.

It dates all the way back to 1828 – that’s when “popular voting” was widespread and the two-party system took hold.

Over the past two centuries, American presidential elections have exhibited a distinct cycle.

However, it’s not a pattern associated with partisan realignments that may last up to 30 years  –  but instead, it’s a shorter cycle that relates to party control of the White House.

Norproth made the prediction in March and says he still stands by his election prediction.
