During her acceptance speech for her Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes 2017, Meryl Streep asks her fellow Hollywood celebrities and the Hollywood Foreign Press to stop Donald Trump, and said its up to them to be guardians of the Truth.

In my opinion, The Golden Globe Awards this year, was “used” as a political platform instead of an award show! Meryl Streep is extremely disappointing, as she not only LIED by stating she “witnessed” DJT making fun of disabled reporter ( A lie from media who SPLICED TWO. Different segments together as I’ve seen both in their entirety)but also seems to believe the PEOTUS wants people who are legally here in this country to leave! I now have zero respect for a woman I previously admired! Sshe has “blown” my theory of her completely!!

So tired of all this BS. These people live in a world of make believe and they’re so full of their own importance they think they can tell people who live in the real world what to think and how to behave.
You hit the nail on the head with that one Jan D. I think it is sad that they use an awards program for acting ability (the ability to pretend to be someone you are not) to spew their ignorance on how we are supposed to live. I’m sure most of them did not get to begin their lives in amazing splendor, and probably had to work hard to get where they are now, but the saddest part of that is that they seem to have forgotten how to live as an every day person who has to work at a job that they hate for wages that barely keep them from living on the street, dealing with drugs, crime, poverty, rent, child care, and the myriad of daily problems that make up life. Instead since they have become well known for their ACTING ABILITY, they feel that they are in a position to tell others how to live their life. Personally, I voted for Trump because the thought of Hillary in the White House was more than I could take. I remember her from when the Clintons ruled the nation, her stealing priceless antiques and “gifts” from other countries when they left and being forced to return same, her disrespect for the nation, its laws, and her Secret Service agents just to mention a few, and there was absolutely no way I wanted to see her back in the White House. There is an old saying, “Actions speak louder than words”. Her actions spoke volumes which lead me to believe that most of her words were lies. Trump may have said some things that he shouldn’t have, (my goodness how many people have done that!) but I will give him credit for making some choices that is keeping jobs in this country instead of “outsourcing” them to China, India, etc. Again, “Actions speak louder than words”. Let’s see what he does with the rest of it. In other words, I am willing to give him a chance and I’ve noticed there are quite a few “every day” people that are willing to do the same. Sorry to be so long winded, but this is just my 2 cents that it seems has turned into a nickels worth.

I agreed the first time I read this some time back and I agree with it now. Meryl Streep is a very talented actor, but she tainted her award by bringing her irrelevant political views (about one misinterpreted action by DJT that happened over a year ago) to the stage. Disappointingly inappropriate. Entertain or write an op Ed, but during an award show, keep your mouth shut!
