Chaos erupted as Debbie Wasserman Schultz addressed Florida delegates on Monday, as protesters jeered the outgoing Democratic National Committee chairwoman as she delivered a speech.

An event organizer had to actively try and quiet the crowd’s boos before Wasserman Schultz began speaking. This was supposed to be one of the biggest and brightest days for Debbie Wasserman Schultz: day one of the Democratic National Convention to nominate the first female candidate from a major party in American history.

Instead, the embattled chair of the DNC has been forced to resign just days after Wikileaks released tens of thousands of incriminating emails that suggest efforts from within to target Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders during the primary.
