I thought they were chosen — due to the fact that it “makes their reputation.” I dont know if Melania chooses or if the “Dresser” is forced on her. As for this so-called “fashion designer”, I think a previous poster had it right when they said that the designer knew Melania would never have given her the time of day, so she decided it was best for her career to jump the gun and refuse the position before she was shamed at not getting it.
I also think that the only reason the designer got that job, was because she isn’t just dressing a woman, she’s dressing a transvestite and its a particular skill to wear just the right type of clothing to hide areas like broad manly shoulder muscles, men’s legs with enormous feet, and a waistline that indents as a mans does, rather than one that indents at or below the belly button like a woman’s. In short, she had to dress a man and make sure it looked like a woman. That’s why you would see Michelle with tons of neck jewels around her neck, to bring the eye up and away from the massive back and should muscles. I guess it must be an art; ever notice when Michelle is standing with other women? She ‘s MASSIVE. She towers over even many of the men in the room…the gaudier the outfit, the more you will tend to look at IT rather than to the obvious manly parts.
Anyway, regardless of what this designer is dressing, she is a disaster and I thank God that if there is one thing I’m sure of, ITS THAT MELANIA TRUMP HAS FAR TOO MUCH CLASS TO WEAR ANY OF THAT GARBAGE…..MAYBE SHE’D HAVE HER MAIDS USE THEM AS DUST RAGS OR SOMETHING, BUT THATS ABOUT IT. This seems like an attention grab from an unremarkable designer. I really can’t remember I was a time that I was in awe of anything MO wore. As if ST was ever “The White House Designer”, Melania already has a much more beautiful sense of style w/out this bigoted troll.

The bakers were asked to supply a cake and refused the request. This “designer” has never been, nor will she ever be, asked to design anything for Mrs. Trump. Sophia refused before even being asked, which makes her presumptuous as well as a bad designer. It has become a “tradition” in recent years for First Ladies to employ little known, up and coming fashion designers as a way to further their careers by giving them exposure that they otherwise would not have. I think Michelle Obama herself regrets her choice of Sophie. Michelle is a tall, large boned woman, but she can be stunning in the right clothing. Unfortunately, Sophie did not take that into consideration, and deigned for her as if she were a 5’2″, 110 lb. teenager. Sophie, go find your niche with the tweenage My Little Pony set and leave the designing of clothes for real women to real designers.

This so-called designer is a French designer for discount plus-sized mall outlet Lane Bryant. I don’t think her line is suitable for Melania’s figure or class. Besides, Melania was a model who can pick any designer she wants (and can wear a runway size).
