VIDEO : Cops Pay Restaurant Tab For Couple Who Refused to Sit Near Them
I love our nation’s police officers.
This past Saturday, a couple walked into a Pennsylvania Homestead restaurant and upon seeing four police officers seated at a table, they coldly informed the staff that they did not want to sit near “those officers.”
The staff seated the couple across the restaurant.
Upon hearing the couple’s complaint, the police officers decided to “pay it forward” by picking up their tab.
They hoped to show the couple that they’re not out to hurt anyone.
The officers paid the couple’s bill – $28.50 plus a $10 tip.
From WTAE:
“I looked over and said, ‘It’s okay sir. You won’t have to worry about it, we won’t hurt you,” Thomas said. “He looked at me hard again and said he’s not sitting here and walked away.”
Thomas said he and another officer thought they should pay the couple’s bill and asked Meyers to bring the check.
“Essentially the whole goal of it was to let him know that we’re not here to hurt you, we’re not here for that,” Thomas said. “We’re here for you. We work for the public. And we just want to better the relationship between the community and the police.”
On the ticket, the officers left a note for the couple: “Sir, your check was paid for by the police officers that you didn’t want to sit next to. Thank you for your support. I left a $10 tip too.”

If you see a police officer, make sure you thank them for their service.
They need your appreciation and support now, more than ever.
