VIDEO : Tim Kaine Pretends He Doesn’t Know the Difference Between a Unscripted Press Conference and Hillary’s Staged Events

Hillary Clinton’s running mate Sen. Tim Kaine made excuses for the Democratic nominee not holding a press conference in over 275 days, prompting reporters to roar with laughter as Kaine argued that “She talks to the press a lot.”

Kaine appeared on ABC and CBS programming over the weekend and was asked to explain why Hillary has not held a press conference for so long.

On ABC’s This Week, Kaine argued that Hillary has been very transparent with the press.

“Our campaign reporters and others say she doesn’t really answer that many questions. Is this going to change?” asked host Martha Raddatz.

“I have to push back on the notion she hasn’t done a press conference.” Kaine responded.

“She gave a speech to the National Association of Black Journalists within the last month, where there were also Hispanic journalists.” he added.

“She did a press conference there and members of mainstream media outlets, television networks, asked her questions,” Kaine said.

Raddatz pushed back and pressed Kaine further, asking “So can we expect a press conference, yes or no?”

“Um, there’s been one in the last month.” Kaine responded, “You’re going to see Hillary very, very accessible to the press.”

It seems that, like Hillary, Kaine doesn’t understand the difference between Hillary’s own staged events and a real unscripted open access press conference where reporters are allowed to ask anything they want to.
