Trump Makes a Pledge to The American People, ” I Won’t Take a Salary and No Long Vacations”
On Sunday night President-elect Donald Trump sat down with “60 Minutes” Leslie Stahl and talked about his historic win and the road to the White House.
Trump is pledging to the American people that he will not take a salary, “Not one dollar,” and he will not take LONG vacations.
From USA Today:
Donald Trump is pledging no long vacations and no presidential salary during his time in the White House.
“There’s just so much to be done,” Trump told CBS’ 60 Minutes in an interview broadcast Sunday.
“So I don’t think we’ll be very big on vacations, no.” As for the president’s $400,000-a-year pay, the New York businessman said: “No, I’m not going to take the salary. I’m not taking it.”

JFK did not take his salary and neither did Arnold Schwarteneger as Governor of California. I didn’t hear Hillary ever say she wouldn’t, that’s for sure!
Herbert Hoover did not take a salary as well. He donated to charity and used some of it to boost the salaries of lower paid staff.

Thanks President-elect Trump for taking on the tasks of making America great and respected by the world, again. And Thank you for the sacrifice of taking a pay cut and smaller living space at the White House. Guess I won’t even mind so much if you repainted the White House exterior to your TRUMP logo. Just kidding, I know you won’t do it, you have too much respect for the office of the Presidency.

Kennedy donated his salary to charity. I respect Trump and believe that if he can start getting things done he has the potential to show America just how bad we’ve been used by the media, corporate, and political elites.

could obama pay us back for all his vacations and flying around on air force one to campaign for hillary instead of working! he has fraudently charged expenses for his daughters to go on trips by calling them assistants and his entourage costs us a fortune. if the obama girls are assistants why do they need a babysitter like michelle’s mother that we pay a ridiculous amount of money to each year to watch them. they are complete ripoffs to the nation.

I did not care for Leslie stahls additude either….she never let him finish a sentence,she seemed jumpy ,nervous and uptight..absolutely the worst interviewer…on the other hand,president elect trump handled himself well and I think it’s great he is foregoing his salary..I hope it goes to charities..definitely a stand up guy when it comes to the people of this country!
