Trump Issues Statement on Dead Castro, While Geraldo Claims Stupidly He’ll be Remembered Fondly
President Elect Donald Trump issued the following statement about the death of Fidel Castro, summing up the sentiments of the vast majority of Americans.
Today, the world marks the passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades. Fidel Castro’s legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty, and the denial of fundamental human rights.
While Cuba remains a totalitarian island, it is my hope that today marks a move away from the horrors endured for too long, and toward a future in which the wonderful Cuban people live in the freedom they so richly deserve.
Though the tragedies, deaths, and pain caused by Fidel Castro cannot be erased, our administration will do all it can to ensure the Cuban people can finally begin their journey toward prosperity and liberty. I join the many Cuban Americans who supported me so greatly in the presidential campaign, including the Brigade 2506 Veterans Association that endorsed me, with the hope of one day soon seeing a free Cuba.
Meanwhile as reported in the Gateway Pundit, some people just DO NOT GET IT. Geraldo Rivera stupidly said Fidel Castro will be remembered fondly.
Geraldo: You know I’ve been to Cuba several times especially back in those times when it was shut off. I think it’s very easy to have a simplistic view that he was all awful for Cuba and the world and I just don’t think that’s accurate. I think the Cubans have a tremendous sense of pride over his legacy. And I think he will be remembered fondly… There are aspects of what he left behind that I think will be remembered.

What Legacy is Geraldo speaking of? We left Cuba in 1971 because of that monster just as many of other Cubans were forced to leave. Untold thousands of other Cubans perished in front of his firing squads. So grateful to be in the BEST country, USA. We support Trump and his views,his policies and I am offended that Geraldo would say the Cuban people will remember him fondly. We believe in the Constitution and the freedoms endowed by our Creator and protected by the Constitution. .

Geraldo, if you can just for once, shut up…think before you talk and stop offending Cubans and Cuban Americans. Fidel was just a tyrant, an evil monster, he prayed on his own people. No Cuban medicine is good. Most of those doctor’s have disabled and killed Bolivians because they don’t know what they ate doing. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR BIG FILTHY MOUTH AGAIN!!!
