You call yourself truthfeed and then you go and distort the truth. The Governor asked Obama to delay his visit for a week, so as not to take first responders and security from the immediate work at hand. He also asked Trump not to make his visit a photo op. Obama honored the request; Trump did not. His 49 seconds of “help” was the worst example of a photo op.
You mean the Democratic Governor asked the Republican Candidate not to come because he knew the President wasn’t going to show up. Looks to me like someone is covering up for the President who couldn’t be counted on to show up. George Bush got bashed and he didn’t even wait as long as our golfing President. What did Trump have to gain: a state that has very few electoral votes, a state that typical votes Republican already. I think Trump showed what a President should act like in times of crisis: not at a ballgame doing the wave, not doing the Tango, not golfing!!

The president is welcome anytime he wants to come…In all honesty, he was gonna visit I would just assume it’d be a week or ten days, fourteen days from now because the vice president was here about three weeks ago to a memorial service for the police officers who were killed here and I will tell you it is a major ordeal. They free up the interstate for them, we have to take hundreds of local first responders, police officers, sheriff’s deputies and state troopers to provide security for that type of visit. I would just as soon have those people engaged in the response rather than trying to secure the president. So I’ve asked him to wait, if he would, another couple of weeks.

EXACTLY Governor!!! I was down there volunteering with the Red Cross for 6 months following Katrina. We didn’t even get to come for 3 weeks following the disaster because transportation had to be set up, housing had to be established, etc. we LISTENED when public officials told us what to do because that’s what RESPECTFUL people do. Good luck Governor. May God watch over the great state of Louisiana for the coming months and may God help by keeping the Orange Headed Monster out of your way.

I know a lot of you are trump hounds but I cannot respect a man that will not help a person after he says he will help….I received a donation letter in the mail yesterday and the letter ask for donations of $50 all the way up to $10,000.00. My husband passed October 2015. I took care of my husband for the last 13 years of his life and also my mom when she got sick…I had no choice but to retire from my job…I went from the paycheck that I usually brought in to less than half…so after since my mom and then my husband passing I have a VERY strict budget to live on…I had to move from the home my husband and I shared, loved and done so much work on to a home that is practically not too good…its close to 200 yrs. old…so far I have fallen through the floors, there are cracks in the door/window jams, it needs new electrical and plumbing…but I have no money to do any of these things and to top it off my 1998 ford ranger is starting to give me trouble….it need a new transmission and some other work done to it….ANYWAY when I received this donation letter it had a phone number on the back to call in your donations I decided to call….a young gentleman answer and told me his name John…so I proceeded to tell him about the letter…he said oh yes and how much can we put you down for and will it be put on your credit card….I explained my situation and that I had seen dt on tv ever since he decided to run saying that he would help people that needed it….he is always saying we are his people and that is why he is here and running for office…so I ask him could I please get help…the young man jumped down my throat and said that was not what dt would do…the letter was for donations not for dt giving money to people…I ask him if he did not want to go out on a limb and give a word to dt that I would gladly call him and ask myself…he said that he was not at liberty to give out any information…that I would have to try to find a way on my own to get in touch with dt….I told him I had tried several ways and nothing worked….in an angry voice he told me that if I was not going to make a donation that he had to go because he had other phone calls that were making donations and then he hung up the phone…I understand why dt does not have time for the ONE little person that needs him when he can make a tv appearance to try to upstage his opponent for whatever votes he can get….I know I am only one person that does not have anything to offer dt but if I do not count what makes you think you do? maybe if I call the tv people and explain what happened wonder if this one little nobody could get his attention then??? thanks for listening to my problems….
I don’t understand all the arguing on here. Can’t a good deed just be that? This was an act of love and concern, bringing charity when it’s so desperately needed. No one should ever be criticized for that. We all need to come together in love and prayer and support these people in need. We need unity not all this argument and disagrement. If we used our energy in a positive way instead of division we would have unity and focus on helping instead of hurt. Let’s all pray for these people in crisis and thank those who are able to give and help.
