The Sky Isn’t Falling – Why Trump Picked Pence

Why did Donald Trump pick Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his running mate?

It’s simple.

Because like it or not, we need unity within the Republican party to beat Hillary.

This notion that we don’t need their stinkin’ help is delusional.

Granted, Trump’s VP pick won’t change the hearts and minds of staunch #NeverTrumpers – but that’s because the NeverTrump movement is not a “political movement.”

NeverTrump is an emotional movement based on personal feelings and personal taste – hence why it died in a humiliating final defeat yesterday.

However, Mike Pence is a “goodwill” gesture for the slew of establishment holdouts who are griping and grumbling all over Capitol Hill.

Mike Pence is an olive branch.

The truth is this – Donald Trump cannot run a successful campaign against Hillary Clinton while juggling a shadow campaign against an establishment goon-squad that’s hell-bent on destroying him.

Sorry, but we can’t win that way.

Period.

The moment word leaked out about Trump’s VP pick, those cantankerous objectors perked up.

Suddenly, they felt like “maybe” they can work with Trump.

Like it or not, we need them.

Trump’s choice earned rave reviews among Hill Republicans — that group of grumpy holdout’s with whom Trump has struggled to connect.

…and that’s putting it mildly.

The bottom line is this – Donald Trump is “the art of the deal.”  You may not always like his deals, nor understand them, but if you support Donald Trump for president there will be times when you’ll need to suck it up, fall in line, and believe that he’s “got this.”

And one more thing –  keep in mind that this election is about so much more than your delicate snowflake feelings.

We have a country to save – so fall in line.
