Thanks to Jill Stein’s RECOUNT Michigan Just Passed a Voter-ID Bill
Jill and Hill’s recount did not work out quite as they had expected.
Americans quickly saw it for the scam that it was, Trump won for the second time, and the fraud that was uncovered was in Democrat strongholds.
Now, thanks to Jill’s recount Michigan is passing voter-ID laws, to ensure FAIR voting.
Just like Jill had hoped for…..

Be careful what you wish for … you just might get it. Jill Stein didn’t get the recount she wanted in Michigan, but she did get the state to take vote-integrity issues seriously. Meeting in its lame-duck session, the state House of Representatives passed a tough voter-ID bill that includes $3 million for funding of free state identification and birth certificates after over 18,000 voters cast ballots without identification in the presidential election:
Michigan’s Republican-led House on Wednesday night approved a strict voter identification proposal over strenuous objections from Democrats who argued the plan could disenfranchise properly registered voters.
Michigan voters without photo identification could still cast a provisional ballot under the controversial legislation, but they would have to bring an ID to their local clerk’s office within 10 days of an election in order for their vote to count.
Current law requires a photo ID too, but also allows for voters to sign an affidavit under oath that attests to their identity and eligibility. The House might have had ample reason to wonder about abuse under that system when looking at the distribution of the practice. The Detroit News’ Jonathan Oostling reports that almost half of all such votes took place in heavily Democratic Wayne County, and almost 6,000 in the city of Detroit alone. That seems oddly disproportional, given that Wayne County accounted for just 16% of the state’s total.
It’s worth noting that Trump won Michigan by 10,704 votes, well below that total of non-ID ballots. That might tend to bolster Stein’s general complaint about potential voter fraud, but a recount wouldn’t be able to determine whether those ballots were cast fraudulently anyway. Ballots are cast secretly, so they do not contain any identifying marks. Once cast, a ballot from an ineligible voter is indistinguishable from legitimate ballots, and a recount would count them again, too. If the recount is about integrity and not the outcome, then Stein and her allies should be cheering this change in the statute, assuming it passes the state Senate.

As much as I was against these recounts because I viewed them as another attempt to steal the election for Clinton, good has come out of them, like the ID law in MI. Also, what when on in Detroit is stunning. The same votes apparently were passed through the optical reader about six times. So that gives one a place to look in the future when the percentages of votes who reporting officials claim voting is significantly higher than expected.
So it may be unintended consequences and surely the choice of states lead to well justified suspicions as does how quickly money was raised and the last minute filings, but maybe this will lead to more secure and trustworthy elections. We have four years to press states and fed government to take steps that will make election fraud nearly impossible, and this includes eliminating the opportunities for illegals and the dead to vote

I don’t know why anyone would object to voter ID. I’ve had to show my ID when I registered to vote, when I voted, and at caucuses. It was painless and I felt a necessary part of voting.
I had to prove citizenship when I first registered to vote and when I voted my name was checked on the registration form before I could vote
I live in California and you have to have a photo ID to return an item at the store…And you have to show it to go to the Doctor…why is it such a problem to have a photo ID? Because the Democrats, etc., etc., etc! Liars and cheats!
In California you can get a drivers license even if your not legal. Once you get a license you are automatically registered to vote. Hmmmm
Not completely true. An AB60 license cannot be used as ID and does not allow you to vote. You must still be a US citizen to vote in this country.

I am an Alien Resident and have been for 27 years, and every year in order to get tags for my vehicle at the DMV l have to provide my drivers license, alien resident card & # and when l got divorced and changed my name, I had to provide the court papers. All for my tags. Why is it some people find it difficult to get an ID and provide it to legally have the privilege of having one of the most important political decisions you will have to make in your life. Are there too many people who think showing up to vote is legal tender of identity in this day and age?
The democrats fight it because they have so many people voting illegally. They cant win without it. There would have been more fraud but this election was watched very closely. I just hope when i die i dont start voting democrat

It’s not difficult to get a Photo ID to vote. Rather it’s difficult to vote fraudulently when a Photo ID is required. Therefore democrats are vehemently opposed to them.

i disagree. you cant go by what is expected because the polls are done at colleges and do not reflect the public option! the proof is in the election that just happened. All the big news stations had Hillary in the lead most of the primary and thru out election, yet all the social media had trump in commanding leads. now they cant understand what went wrong. you cant go by what is expected unless you are going to be honest and balanced in your polls.
North Carolina used a similar strategy and announced a photo ID requirement to vote in the next election, which at the time was in another four years. The Democrats waited till the last minute and filed a suit to strike it down instead of helping their constituents get IDs.
Pass the same law we have in Georgia for voter ID and you’re golden. Ours has already passed SCOTUS muster.

But the law allows for the issuing of an ID card. It doesn’t say anything about whether or not you are a citizen. So these cards will be issued to non citizens as well. How does this help anything?

Agree 100%. Ironic that the re check uncovered so many Democratic instances of voter fraud. Regardless of affiliation, Voter ID should and hopefully will be the law of the land in 2020. Wonder how many of killary’s popular votes were fraudulent in heavily populated blue states?
ABSOLUTELY!! Current and legal picture ID. Should be a standard requirement for voting in any election from now on! This should have always been a requirement and had it been 8 years ago, I’m sure the things that happened, like the division of this country and the robbery of THE Medicare and Social Security $173 billion) among many other things, wouldn’t have happened. But, for here and now and going forward, things will get better!
I agree, and I hope all States have that! The only thing that irritates me is the cost was in the millions that our tax dollars had to pay for. Our debt is already way out of control. Obviously Jill Stein didn’t care how much it cost, and I’m sure she kept the Liberals / democrats extra funded money. She played one of Hillary’s tricks. I feel she should turn over all the money that was funded toward this effort.
When I went to the voters pole, I was appalled to see just how many foreigners were in line with me! As I waited there patiently for my turn to cast my vote for the next leaders of this great nation, I could barely understand a word that was being said around me. Which is odd, because I speak three languages fluently, four if you count American Sign… although nobody does… what really ticked me off was when we got up to the sign in desk and the folks that were voting couldn’t speak OR understand English! Their school-aged children were interpreting for them! They told them to show their Drivers license….the adult looked blankly at the kid.. the child spoke to the adult in their native language, and then they did as the Voting Attendant asked. Each one of them were of Middle Eastern descent,……. Indian,Turkey,Uzbekistan,Syria. (I do understand Uzbek and Russian, I just don’t speak much of it)

*Number One…… How did they pass the Driving test!? It is in English… Spanish if you are lucky… but all of our street signs are in English, STOP, Caution, SLOW, SCHOOL. Detour, Deaf Child, Curves Ahead…etc.

Constitutionally, it is the State’s right to regulate voting. As much as I’d like a Federal voting law, the only thing the US government can do is to make sure that voting laws are non-discriminatory.
Wrong. A federal voter I.D. law to ensure only U.S. citizens are voting in federal elections can and should be passed by Congress. The federal government has jurisdiction in federal elections …e.g. Prohibit poll tax etc.
What national election are you referring to? I thought the states sent electors ( from the Electoral College) to the national election to elect the president. And those electors are chosen at the STATE level. Short of that we do not have a Natonal election.
How about requiring photos, along with address, on Federal benefit cards?
It eliminates Libs “argument” that poor and minorities can’t get I’D and could cut down on EBT abuse because recipients cod no longer claim they “lost” their cards and sell them for cash.

There has always been a law for national ID to vote, why or who discounted that is unknown to me. This happened when my children were in junior high… I am so glad that is being enforced again.
There has always been a national law that says we have to have the ID in-order to vote. When my children were in Junior High (68) it was required, then suddenly it went away.. So glad that is being enforced again.
Hope to God we can pass a voter I.D. law in Nevada which has the highest number of illegal immigrants (percentage wise) of any state in the union. Nevada runs its elections on the honor system. Incredibly, there is no citizenship verification requirement in order to register to vote.
Idk about rest of NV, but here Carson City you must show id to vote. I just assumed it was that way all over the state.

Susan…you say Carson City Nevada requires I.D. to vote.? What kind of I.D.? In 2015 the state legislature passed a bill allowing illegal immigrants to obtain drivers licenses and it was signed into law by Mexican American Governor Brian Sandoval. As it stands right now there is no citizenship verification requirement in Nevada in order to register to vote.
The first time I voted in Florida the lady asked me for my I.D. I was shocked because in NY where I came from I was NEVER asked for one.It didn’t cause me any grief to show her my driver’s license she then handed me my ballot and I went on to vote, I don’t understand the LIBS B.S.about how showing an I.D. causes their voters any problem. You have to shoe an I.D. for just about anything else so WHY NOT TO VOTE??? I know if you had to show one all their ILLEGALS couldn’t vote

We have to show our ID’s along with our fishing license when we’re out on the boat and inevitably wildlife and fisheries pull along side you to make sure you have the correct amount of life jackets and you haven’t surpassed your limit. How can you not be asked to show an ID to vote in a Presidential election!?

Photo id’s are required for the following…. Liquor purchase, Cigarettes, Driving, Flying, Doctor visits, Opioid Prescriptions, Cashing checks, obtaining Passports, Employment and VOTING IN NH… No one is going to convince me that minorities don’t have picture Id’s. it is impossible to do anything without an ID… So with that said. I believe that all 50 states need to use standard ballot counting machines with paper ballots like we do in NH. No more electronic voting.. All 50 states should have citizenship status printed on all Drivers licenses and on all other state or federal issued photo IDs . No early voting, because there is too much opportunity for tampering .. Have a National Voting Day Holiday so that everyone votes on the same day. Also all polling locations should have video surveillance of the ballot boxes.
We live in a small town where everyone knows everyone. We still show our ID every time we vote.
I would love to see a total redo of ALL voters registrations country wide. Start anew from this point on and ONLY new, properly documented, registered voters are allowed to participate in elections.
My nieghbor is the lady that checks voter IDs and I have to show her my ID and it doesn’t bother me at all. Hopefully with republicans in control we can get some real voter ID laws passed the democrats are the ones that have always fought them.
Janet, I object to your suggestion of eliminating early voting. Being a senior citizen with medical issues, I found it was much more convenient for me to go and vote early rather than stand in line for hours with hundreds of other voters. This was the first time I voted early, and I did it in both the primary and the general election. I personally think that either palm or thumb prints should be required also. At some doctors offices I have had to use my palm print. No big deal. These should be recorded when one gets either a drivers license or a state I.D., and then computer matched to the person along with other forms of I.D. such as a birth certificate or citizenship papers. People can change their names and their hair and eye color, but it would be very difficult to change one’s palm print.
Just more waste of pety time and a bundle of tax payers money by Hillary and the Democrats. But the consider themselves conservatives. Conserving what?
I have to show photo ID every time I go to a new doctor, and most require me to show it again on my first visit each year and they copy it and insurance cards. I had to have it when I went to the radiology place for a scan. I asked what would happen if I didn’t have photo ID–they would not do the scan. I have to have it when I got to the lab for my lab work ..without I couldn’t get my lab work done. I had to have one to get a library card. I had to have photo ID to get my social security and Medicare. . We live in a town of 4000 and once a month the blood mobile comes to our church and we are notified the week before that it will be there if we want to give blood. AND it says in the bulletin that you have to have photo ID . Have photo Id to donate blood!. I had to have photo ID when I wet to pick up a item I had ordered on line from a well known department store. The list goes on and on. So there is no reason. One thing they say is people can’t afford it. If they are that poor then they are probably on welfare food stamps, Medicaid etc. You would think they would need photo ID to get all those things. And here in the state of Texas, they can get FREE voter picture ID cards at the DPS. No, the democrats just want to keep having people vote from their graves sneak across the border and vote, etc, etc.
I think every that votes should be required to have a photo I D along with their voters registration card . Then slide their ID into a data base as proof that they are a US citizen. This way when one tries to vote again in a county or state, it will show that they’ve already voted. It will eliminate any death voters fraud too

Free ID cards solves one of two reasons libs say people of color are disenfranchised. Now they need to subsidize free Uber or Lyft rides to the DMV summoned via a free Obamaphone.

I live in Michigan and am in my mid 50’s. I have always had to show my ID to vote. How is this new, or just new to the entire state?
I also read that voters who showed up to the wrong polling station were given a special out of district ballot or something like that I can’t remember the terminology but anyway the town where we live if you go to the wrong polling station we get sent to the proper polling station not given a special out of district ballot which from what I’ve read half the time doesn’t even get counted just like a lot of early voters and mail in votes due to being signed in the wrong place and I know I’m out town that a great majority of early voters were for trump which would close that popular vote to closer numbers that the democratic side really wants to see so they may want to pull the reigns back on Stein before she makes an even bigger fool of her self as well as anyone who has jumped in that sinking dingy with her

In Massachusetts I was not required to show my ID. I just needed to give them my address. What’s even worse is that they asked me if I was my son who hasn’t lived in Massachusetts for a few years…
Some Countries also dip a voters finger in a dye so they can be identified if they attempt to vote again. Some would complain of the practice, but in this day of tattoos and other forms skin and body management, why not consider the partially dyed digit as an honorary marking indicating that you had voted !
