Texas GOP Elector Chris Suprun, Plans to Defy Voter He Represents, Vote Against Trump
A republican elector in Texas, Christopher Suprun has written an op-ed piece in the New York Times declaring he will defy the will of the voters he represents and vote against Donald Trump.

The United States was set up as a republic. Alexander Hamilton provided a blueprint for states’ votes. Federalist 68 argued that an Electoral College should determine if candidates are qualified, not engaged in demagogy, and independent from foreign influence. Mr. Trump shows us again and again that he does not meet these standards. Given his own public statements, it isn’t clear how the Electoral College can ignore these issues, and so it should reject him.
I have poured countless hours into serving the party of Lincoln and electing its candidates. I will pour many more into being more faithful to my party than some in its leadership. But I owe no debt to a party. I owe a debt to my children to leave them a nation they can trust.
In most states, electors are ‘bound’ and required by law to cast a vote for the winner of their state’s popular vote.
But other states like Texas don’t have a rule against electors going rogue, and at least six Democratic electors have already expressed their intentions to try to block Donald Trump from securing 270 Electoral College votes on December 19.
In the Electoral College, however, Trump carries a lead of 306 to Clinton’s 232. It would be unlikely to convince 37 Republican electors to change their votes

Clearly, this is a man with a chip on his shoulder and a personal ax to grind. He is an absolute disgrace for putting his personal opinion above the thousands of voters he represents and should be removed as an elector.

The entire state of Texas electoral voters would need to defect for Trump not to win this at this point. It’s obvious Stein & Hillary trying to get recounts done by hand now in WI, PA, and MI for the purpose of delaying final certification there so Trump can’t get the Electoral College 306 come the 19th or to buy them more time to get some EC voters to swap.

He needs to get his head out of his ass and do the job he was elected to do and if he can’t do that he should say I can’t fulfill the job I was elected to do so I resign the office. The next session of the legislature needs to pass a law requiring an elector do the job they were elected to do and provide stiff penalties for anyone that does not do it.

By signing a pledge that he is now willing to break, Chris Suprun is showing his great lack of moral integrity, and is therefore incapable of doing the job he was sent to accomplish and thus no more worthy of holding his position than he believes Trump to be as POTUS. He ought to be removed NOW!

Fifteen years ago, as a firefighter, I was part of the response to the Sept. 11 attacks against our nation. That attack and this year’s election may seem unrelated, but for me the relationship becomes clearer every day.”
Mr. Suprun was a volunteer paramedic for the Dale City Fire Department in Virginia. He responded to the Pentagon from 30 miles away along with a fellow volunteer.
Upon arrival they were assigned to a parking lot area where they administered basic first aid until 6pm that evening.
At that time they were assigned to a recreation area nearby where they continued administering basic first aid to first responders for another six hours.
Those are the facts contained in his own account of that day in the link below.
Mr. Suprun is to be commended for his service that day in his capacity as a paramedic delivering basic first aid.
There were many people, however, that were truly endangered that day. Cops, firefighters, medical professionals and civilians. Many were injured and a large number died, including the heros of Flight 93.
Responding to the Pentagon parking lot and handing out bandaids does not place a person in their company, imo.
I once knew a World War 2 Airborne Marine. Over time, he reluctantly shared the story of his service in the South Pacific. He hit every Island from Hawaii to Japan and played down his place in every chapter.
Many times he referred to himself as a “Country Club Marine”, so adverse was he to attaching himself to the special hell faced by the Marine combat units on the ground and claiming it as his own.
He was a hero outright many times over, suffering injury and witnessing the death of comrades. He was a greater hero to me for his humility decades later.
In conclusion, it seems that Mr. Suprun has come to believe his own bullshit that his bandaid duty at the Pentagon on 9/11 is some how on a par with the real heros that did suffer and die.
Mr. Suprun should head over to the nearest firehouse in DC and apologize for stealing the honor of the dead and injured. He should then resign his post and get some mental help..
