I was actually beginning to support Ted Cruz in the primary but as time qent on.. I wasnt feeling good about his tactics. And last night on the RNC stage, Cruz proved to be what I had suspicion of. He takes the risk of his followers not wanting to vote Trump which is the same as a Hillary vote. I was for Ted Cruz until the incident with Melania Trump; true he has no legal authority over SuperPAC; he still could have done damage control, not a peep out of him. Then he has the nerve to spend all of Easter weekend bashing Trump. I don’t condone Trump’s response, but he did something Cruz would never do – tweeted it under his name, thus being responsible for it. I do understand why Trump did it; unlike Cruz, Trump was able to move past it, run a great campaign. Cruz’s behavior at the RNC was at best childish. I am glad I was not part of the Texas delegation.
I think what bothered me even more than the pledge situation (I mean, who knows what Trump might have done about the pledge if the tables were turned, even though the whole idea of the pledge was to corner Trump, whom they all thought wouldn’t get very far….) was the fact that Cruz talks religion, country, morals, conscience, etc. and yet, he doesn’t have the spine or the character to be an example and do what’s right. He said just as many despicable things about Trump as the vice versa, and that started before he stated on 3 March he’d support the nominee. He only said that because he didn’t think Trump would win, and two months later, Cruz was trying to announce Carly as his VP pick and that lasted half a day. He bowed out, bitter and defeated.
