REPORT : Trump To Pick General Michael Flynn for National Security Advisor

Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn is reportedly set to become President-elect Donald Trump‘s national security advisor, according to NBC News.

Flynn, who has been a military adviser to Trump throughout his campaign, was rumored to be a top choice for the position, the National Review also reported Wednesday.

Jason Miller, an aide to Trump, said Flynn met with the president-elect on Wednesday and said he would be a “fantastic addition” to the team.

“No formal announcement yet for that position. Gen. Flynn met with the president-elect today. He has been a companion on the campaign trail quite a bit as we’ve seen over the past few months,” he said in an interview with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly.

“He’d be a fantastic addition, I’ll let the president-elect make that decision. I’m a huge fan of Gen. Flynn,” he added.

Later Wednesday, ABC News also tweeted that Flynn had been chosen, before walking it back to say he is a “contender” for the job.
