Obama’s America : Vet Dies in VA Hospital With Maggots in His Wounds, Four Employees Resign
Obama’s America has been a dark and hopeless place, especially for our nation’s vets, who have suffered gravely under this heartless administration.
Under Obama the VA scandal broke, exposing massive negligence and corruption, where vets were dying while stuck on waiting lists to receive medical treatment.
The VA scandal was treated as if it were no big deal.
As a matter of fact, Hillary even went so far to say that the issue had been “over exaggerated.”
Shameful.
While vets were suffering, Obama was focused on illegals and refugees, providing them with quality healthcare and taxpayer benefits.
And the Democrats wonder why they lost?
Obama’s reign of heartless terror continues, as we learn that a vet died in the VA hospital with maggots in his wounds.
Animals are treated better than our countries veterans.
Thankfully, Trump is on the way.
From Daily Caller:
Four employees at the Talihina Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) center have resigned after a patient was found with maggots in his wound shortly before he died.
Talihina director Myles Deering confirmed the maggots didn’t enter the wound after the patient died on Oct. 3, but rather were present while the patient was still alive.
However, Deering stressed that the patient did not die from the maggots themselves.
“He did not succumb as a result of the parasites,” Deering said, Tulsa World reports. “He succumbed as a result of the sepsis.”
Deering also serves as secretary of the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs, which is separate from the federal Department of Veterans Affairs.
The 73-year-old veteran, Owen Reese Peterson, initially came to the medical center with an infection, but then ended up with sepsis, to which he later succumbed.
Four staff members at the facility have resigned: a physician’s assistant and three nurses.
The Oklahoma VA has since reported the maggot incident to the Oklahoma State Department of Health and has sent over a report to the district attorney, which means charges may be forthcoming.
Peterson’s son, Raymie Parker, described his frustration with how poorly his father was treated while at the facility, even though he tried his best to be an advocate for his care.
Staff seemed to completely ignore him.
“During the 21 days I was there, … I pled with the medical staff, the senior medical staff, to increase his meds so his bandages could be changed,” Parker told Tulsa World. “I was met with a stonewall for much of that time.”
And yet, as far as Parker is concerned, the nurses were excellent. He placed the blame instead on senior medical staff and the bureaucracy.
In late November, Deering was given a raise by the Oklahoma Veterans Commission, which is responsible for overseeing the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs.
The raise amounted to an extra $15,000 a year and was controversial at the time not because of the maggots scandal, but because of the closure of a vets’ facility and the fact that the state budget is incredibly tight.

Remember, during the Obamacare debate this was the form of healthcare democRATs were touting as an ultimate goal for universal health care. Useless people like “Dr” Howard Dean, Lawrence O’Donnell and Bob Beckel were all saying it was wonderful without ever being treated by those facilities.
As a disabled vet I can tell you that I tried using the VA for 5 years in Tampa, Florida and finally quit them because they were outright lying to me. That is their version of triage, lie to the patients they don’t want to deal with at the moment making them think their issues are minor. When they told me a torn ACL was just worsening of my arthritic condition I left them taking the same MRI they used to a real doctor. That doctor told me my ACL was gone. Since then it’s been repaired.
I hear ya bro,and thank you for serving.I got fubared in a helicopter crash on my first tour in Vietnam. That was almost 47 years ago and the VA still won’t address it. BUT,I’m on the Choice card and am seeing civilian Dr’s and all these problems, one by one,are FINALLY being taken care of.Hang in there man, once the electoral college votes Trump in,we will all be taken care of properly, and quickly.I’ve been 100% sc/p&t for almost 35 years now.I’m at the top of the ‘we have to take care of this guy’ in rating with the VA for healthcare, and it don’t mean shit to them.
My brother , a VietNam vet now deceased, had mental health problems that would flare up during times of stress. He would end up getting committed into a locked VA Ward where he would promptly kick or shove a doctor so they would send him to jail instead. He said he preferred jail because he had more rights and dignity in jail than at the VA.
It is disgusting how the vets have been treated. I am a private physician and for years the vets have been denied outside care, forcing them onto lists or paying the tab themselves. Only recently (6 months or so) we have had a few direct referrals from the va, but more needs to be done. Even when they get to see us we hear tails of months of poor to no management of their condition before they finally get the referral. It is improving, but not fast enough. Too many vets are still suffering and dying waiting for apporprate care. Shame on this administration, and the administration within the va. Our vets deserve better.
My brother served in the Navy for four years! Now having health problems and been to Vet facilities where they did not help him at all. He is now in a private nursing home in New York State slowly dying of cancer and a case of Dementia ! Breaks my heart as he has been seeking help but no help for the past two years now .His family has been told theres no room in a Vets care facililty for him .
