Newt Gingrich blasted Mitt Romney as a prospective secretary of state, arguing that the front-runner to fill the position holds a world view that’s incompatible with the “Trump vision of foreign policy.”
“I can think of 20 other people who would be more naturally compatible,” Gingrich said Tuesday on Fox News‘ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
“Romney does represent a very different view point — authentically. I’m not sure whose secretary of state he would be,” he added, without elaborating on Romney’s global vision.
Asked to detail who would be a better selection than Romney, Gingrich named former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former UN Ambassador John Bolton, former Senator Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) and former CEO Carly Fiorina.
Gingrich, who met with Donald Trump earlier this week, aired his criticism of Romney just days after the former Republican presidential nominee met with the president-elect in Bedminster, NJ.

I just know if it were me I would make dam sure it would be people who I could trust and I simply don’t trust this morman and his false profit. No to Mitt Romney, too passive & weak & unknowledgeable. No to Rudy Giuliani, too temperamental & unknowledgeable and I don’t agree with Nikki Haley being UN Ambassador perhaps HUD. We need a strong determined person that has knowledge of the nations and foreign policies Secretary and I think that needs to be a Senator, (if we have one of that caliber). Definitely not Newt. I think if he uses outside people it should be Allen West. Ben Carson should have been named Attorney General or as Trump’s closest advisor. He would have been well suited for that role. I don’t think Steve Bannon needs to be used at all either, too much distrust & appearance of being shady.
