My Open Letter To Mitt Romney
During the primaries, when Mitt descended from his mansion, perched high atop a mountain in Park City to attack Donald Trump, I wrote an “open letter” to him.
I was, at one time, a staunch supporter of Mitt Romney.
I have met him.
I worked hard for him in 2012.
So, today, as we face the very real possibility of Mitt Romney being chosen as Secretary of State, I thought it would be fitting to revive this open letter and remind everyone that this FIGHT for our country was about much more than just “Trump.”
It was about purging neocon, warmongering globalists from our system.
Not awarding them with the second most powerful post in our country.
Dear Mitt,
Wow, this is hard.
I had to gather my thoughts as I sat down to write this letter because my anger and disappointment in you is so overwhelming, it was obscuring my ability to be rational.
Then, it finally came to me.
I realized that I needed to travel back to a time and place when I believed in you.
Las Vegas, 2012.
It is from that very place, where I begin.
However, before we venture back to your Las Vegas campaign headquarters on W. Tropicana Blvd., let’s go a bit further back in time.
I’ve been a Republican since I cast my first vote for George H. W. Bush. However, even before that, in high school I was a proud member of The Young Republicans and volunteered on Reagan’s second campaign, spreading the good-conservative-word to lost souls.
So, it only made sense that when you won the primary and were handed the mighty GOP torch that I would heed the call and race to your side to fight the good conservative fight.
I spent my free time sitting in that bleak strip-mall storefront on W. Tropicana Blvd., calling lists of hostile independents and angry “Republican-leaning” Democrats, repeating my pre-written spiel so often I could say it with my eyes closed.
Weird, why was everyone so mad?
I shook off the negativity – jerks be damned, we had work to do – and on the brighter side of the rainbow, anytime we’d get a caller who supported you, we’d tap a bell that sat in the center of the table.
Ding, ding, ding!
I couldn’t care less about the people screaming how they’d rather write-in Ron Paul’s name than vote for a “Cold-hearted Wall St. asshole like Mitt Romney!” None of that mattered because this was an EPIC FIGHT to regain our country from the evil clutches of Obama, and you were carrying the torch of conservatism!
Ding, ding, ding?
Damn that stupid bell.
It didn’t ring very often.
Some days I hardly heard it.
Ding?
That’s ok – no one said it would be an easy fight, so I kept calling and calling – and the most remarkable thing happened Mitt.
People seemed to get angrier.
One call, in particular, shook me to the very core of my “conservativeness.”
I’ll never forget that man.
Ring, ring, ring.
“Hello Sir, my name is Amy, and I am calling today on behalf of the Mitt Romney campaign…..”
“Mitt Romney doesn’t care about me,” the gruff old man shouted into the phone.
“Oh, yes, he does,” I softly begged to differ, eager to spread the “good word” to another lost soul.
However, he quickly cut me off. His voice was broken and trembling – I could hear the tears soaking through his words.
I held my breath as he began, “No little lady, he’s like the rest of them DC politicians. They only care about themselves – face it,” he whimpered, “We’ve lost our country.”
Click.
Lost?
No, no, Mitt cares….He’s just….He has….He wants….
Holy shit, why is everyone so damn mad?
Fast forward to today and I get it now.
The Ron Paul supporters were years ahead of the rest of us in seeing the lies, corruption, and shadiness of the Grand Ole Party.
It took people like me another four years of deception and trickery to finally admit that I belonged to a party of neocon globalists who were destroying America.
That old guy was right.
You didn’t care about him, or me.
And so it came to pass – election day arrived, and you failed.
Looking back on it – the loss seems so obvious to me.
However, back then I was devastated and I didn’t understand where we went wrong.
I’ll admit I cried.
Sobbed.
Now, though, I realize what happened. You didn’t fail because you went off “script,” or altered the establishment status quo.
No.
You failed because you remained the same rigid, neocon globalist you’d always been during a time when the notion of change was whirling around us like a tornado.
You failed because you snubbed the Ron Paul supporters, dismissing them and their desire for reform with an arrogant flick of the wrist.
It’s the same smug disrespect you show millions of Trump supporters each time you descend from your Park City mansion to give a speech or an interview condemning Donald Trump.
When you attack him, you attack us, Mitt.
We’re a team.
Ding, ding, ding.
You had your chance – twice – and you failed.
It’s over.
My god, it was over back on W. Tropicana Blvd. in Suite 106, across from that crappy Starbucks that never had sugar-free vanilla lattes.
Times have changed, Mitt and the future is moving ahead without you and your archaic neocon pals.
Today, we the people have a brighter, sharper candidate – someone who has successfully harnessed the winds of change to his advantage and is soaring in ways you could never imagine.
So, Mitt, while I know it hurts to say goodbye, it’s time for us to fly.
Enjoy Park City – it’s where you belong.

Ding! Ding! Ding!
The person who wrote this letter (me), will never support Mitt Romney.
….and I am insulted that anyone thinks I would.
My question is this : Where’s Mitt’s apology to the millions of Trump voters who had to fight harder to win because he actively fought AGAINST us?
Crickets.
Mitt Romney is an arrogant, smug elitist.
He is everything I have spent 18 months fighting against.
So, excuse me while I sit here in my corner and fight his “Secretary of State” gig as hard as he FOUGHT ME and my candidate, Donald J. Trump.

I voted for Ron Paul back then.Romney didn’t fool me at all.I didn’t like either of the bush’s to tell the truth.H.W.’s speech when he said he wanted us in the ‘new world order’ scared the shit out of me.I knew then they were taking down our country, and I couldn’t do anything about it.With bush II and wanting to go into iran,I knew that was all bullshit, and it turned out it was,and now look at the mess.I was part of the ‘nation building’.I fought for it in Vietnam, and it all came to nothing but damn near 60k Americans dead, and for what? We need Trump to bring us back to taking care of US for a change.I don’t give a rats ass what the rest of the world thinks of us anymore.Let us take care of our problems, and other countries can take care of theirs.
Dear Amy,
Thank you for your repost and additional comments.
hugs!
Romney is a heritcal moonbat!
DEPLORABLE G, I AGREE WITH YOU! |[][]% I PRAYED EVERDAY, For Our Country To WIN, I Detested Killary, With A Vengance! I didn’t Always Like What Trump Said AT FIRST..Then The More I Researched Him, Watched Mulitudes of Videos, Litened Passionately to Sean Hannity, and Seen A Different Man, One That Cared For Our Country..One Who I BELIVE, That Wants to Make America Great Again..I Do Not Like Mitt Romney, IT’S A BAD CHOICE..AND HE WILL HURT US AND OUR COUNTRY..You Cant Make A Silk Purse Out Of A Sows Ear, No Matter How Pretty,The PIG IS!

Thanks for the letter. I, too, am waiting for an apology from Mittens. We don’t need a canned apology. It needs to be a heartfelt, sincere apology.
Seemed like Romney threw the 2012 election on purpose. He’s dirty. Who is whispering in Trump’s ear with all these offensive considerations? The son in law (and daughters) who’s the Trump whisperer is supposedly Democrat, and is also close to Murdoch who is a globalist. If Trump’s statement about letting Hitlery off the hook was real and not chess, and if he keeps appointing toxic globalists, it’s not going to be good. Trump supporters are not going to be appeased with a few tossed crumbs. For the first in Trump’s campaign, I felt manipulated by his campaign yesterday. There was the set up of the great Sessions appointment, and then Mittens, Free Hillary, etc.
So, a few questions.
1) What if an elitist is what the position calls for, given that we need someone who can subvert the game of global elitists from other countries?
2) Whether you agree with the premise of my first question or not, whom would you pick for Secretary of State, and why?
Why is your premise that only a globalist can subvert a globalist? And why is your premise that Romney is suddenly transformed and would want to subvert globalists rather than the far more likely scenario that globalist buttboy Romney would abuse his position for the furtherance of globalism and self-enrichment. Hitlery provided a road map to stolen treasure for all these other lurking globalist vultures who probably never even imagined taking it as far as she did, but now they dream of being Hitlery 2.0 especially if Trump does let her off.
VERY TOUCHING LETTER, AMY!
THOUGH YOU HAVE EXPRESSED YOUR PERSONAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS, MANY OF US SHARE YOUR SENTIMENT. AND THANK YOU FOR SHARING IT WITH US!
Thank you!!
Great Letter Amy! You have put into words a lot of what the rest of us are thinking! I know Trump will do the right thing and hopefully that “right thing” will be not to pick Romney!
Thanks, Ken. I sure hope so!
Even though I didn’t work for Romney’s campaign, I have thought and felt those very realizations. I cried, too I was hurt by his comments about Trump, and I couldn’t imagine him not taking pro-life supreme court justices seriously. I don’t want to be had again, but I do think we must trust Trump. If Romney runs the State dept. like a business, efficent, accountable, then the deaths in Benghazi will not happen, no one will use a personal cell phone, and 6 billion dollars will not be lost. Maybe that needs to happen more than anything. Guilianni does not have the stamina to get the department in order. Romney has energy, and wants to work. If he steps out of line, he and we will read about it on twitter.
Wonderful post Amy. Romney an his kind are dead to me and the nation. RIP
BTW, I’m new to your site and I love it.
Amy Moreno proving to be one of the best around, keep up the good work. I like many others do not watch or follow the MSM anymore for news. They can rail all they want, fewer and fewer people are listening to them. Their stranglehold on news is withering like fruit on the vine. They are scared and panicking, thus all these attempts to censure people and social media. They will lose this battle as well, since at it’s core we are talking about freedom of speech and censorship.
