FlashBack Video : Why Mitt’s “47 Percent” Comment Was So Damn Insulting
During the 2012 election, Mitt Romney was speaking to a group of donors.
He thought he was speaking “freely,” since all cameras and videos had been confiscated.
However, there was one phone in the room and it captured a moment that many call the final NAIL in Mitt’s political coffin.
Watch the video:
The thing is, Mitt wasn’t wrong regarding the FACTS of what he said.
He was actually correct.
The Democrats have created a nanny state, where people are dependent upon government to take care of them.
So, it wasn’t so much what he said in terms of spouting facts – although liberals were butt-hurt but what’s new – it was more about this elitist, job-killing, global shmuck standing there in his $19 thousand dollar suit writing off 47% of Americans as a lost cause.
That comment played into the stiff, staunch, elitist stereotype of Romney as this out-of-touch rich dude born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
Of course, having it on video, where you can hear the matter-of-fact tone and that callous “rich guy” dismissal was extra brutal.
That video was definitely the cherry atop of Mitt’s condescending sundae.
It’s this attitude and his very GLOBAL actions which stand in STARK contrast to the America First movement.
Donald Trump may be worth $10 billion, but he never comes off as an a-hole rich guy like Romney does.
….and that matters to Trump’s base.
Many of Trump’s people are blue collar workers who were deeply offended by Mitt Romney and his smug attitude 4 years ago – and still are, after the crap he pulled during this election cycle.
We can do better than Mitt.
Let me rephrase that…..
We MUST do better than Mitt.
