After lots of similar experiences in the US, I´m not surprised. When asked by Joe Sixpacks, where I come from and answered Europe, many just remarked nice country, once been there.

Sorry Wilbur! I believe she was referring to the ‘Capitol’ in Washington DC, not the ‘Capital’ of any of the states. The Capitol is the building in Washington, D.C., used by the Congress for its sessions. In addition, the State Legislators meet in the ‘Capitol’ of their respective states. I saw the same segment, and the question was asked the uninformed. 1 or 2 of 5 or so did not know that the Capital of the US was Washington. Another question was who was the capital named after? Stupid answers of which I don’t recall the specifics but none knew G. Washington. Another question was asked “Who were the Pilgrims?”, another what was their ship called. ONE guy was able to answer. So, it is apparent that probably 50% of the US young are totally ignorant of their own country. We know who is responsible. Congressman Keith Ellison said that Germany bombed Pearl Harbor and he is a Muslim vying to become the DNC Chair. Sad that Democrats will vote for him, but I sincerely hope he gets the job. They deserve him!
Well, I’ve been to Germany and every other nation in Western Europe in the last 20 years. And I’ve met quite a few ignorant Europeans as well. Small wonder one of the most googled topics after Brexit was “What is the EU?”

It was not a joke and all of the late night T.V. Show hosts laughed at Biden when reporting on the interview. I saw the interview and the “flack” it received, and the reporters covering the late night t.v. hosts yucking it up on the daytime morning shows the next day. Biden is just careless when he speaks.

Where did gthe Congressman say the Germans attacked Pearl harbor?? He did NOT..he said they attacked Pearl …while everyone was saying they would not do anything…..that was true of the Japanese….MOST felt they would not touch the US….though there was warning in the US intelligence community that it was going to happen…and could have been prevented….(Yes there IS proof of that; the US dropped the ball and allowed the attack to happen)…

He obviously was taught in the Liberal School system where he lived and History isn’t a great priority on any schools list these days and hasn’t been for a while. I think if run for any office in the House or Senate before you can run your official candidacy you have to pass a U.S. History Exam. Like a serious one like say 250 questions or shouldn’t be able to run for office.
You do recall the problem in the Service Academies where 21% of the best and the brightest couldn’t find couldnt’ pass a map reading course. They had to start a special class and they had to make it an “assessment class” rather than a credit class because of the failure rate…and these are people who lead people into war…and they come from all kinds of backgrounds.

The article you quote is about Congress not service academies. You can not get out of basic combat training without passing basic map reading. Leadership academies,which includes NCO and Officers, require extensive map reading training and tested proficiency in nap reading before you graduate from that training. This is real map reading of terrain maps not your exon road map. So your statement is totally inaccurate.
We learned map-reading in 8th grade.
Am told students do not even have access to History books anymore, look up info on Internet, do not have study materials. “History” is easily changed when this is done. Some where, old news clips may still be available, showing the bon fires of book burnings in Cuba @ 1962 or so. Was also done when communist took over Bolivar.

World War II started September of 1939. Pearl Harbor was bombed December 7 1941. 2 years not 3 after the start of the war. If you are going to make statements how about using facts instead of making up things
I am as conservative as they come, and you are correct. At no time did he say or even imply the Germans attacked Pearl Harbor. He tried to expand the question in order to control the answer. It is a common tactic that O’Rielly, himself, uses all the time.
