Final Tally of Campaign Spending in the 2016 Presidential Election
The final tallies are in on the total dollars spent for the 2016 presidential campaign.
It’s no surprise that Trump outsmarted the bloated, spendaholics in the Clinton campaign.
His victory came at a much lower cost than Hillary’s – further indication that as a businessman Trump understands the value of a dollar and knows how best to spend his money to yield a victorious return.
Donald Trump spent $5 per vote.
Hillary Clinton spent $8.80 per vote.
Total campaign spending: 2016
Clinton: $450 million
Trump: $239 million
Total campaign spending: 2012
Obama: $721.40
Romney: $449.5

Definitely can tell who the business person in the campaign was. Strategy is the game! Knowing when and where to put the money
Trump used the media that would grab anything to try to dis him and instead kept him in the public eye. Much of the time the lies they tried to perpetrate worked against them and Hillary. Bad strategy. While Trump hired an expert strategist to lead his campaign and used the media. Hillary ignored advice that could have given her more votes and in doing so alienated many. That along with a sordid history was her own undoing.
Where is the risk of incarceration figured into this? Trump ran no risk of Jail. Clinton runs certain risk of jail and she encouraged, funded and promoted lawlessness as it is still going strong to this day. Figure that in along with all the voter fraud and wow, she would be at around a grand per legal vote.
Lawlessness. Like Trump’s servers being linked to Russian KGB hackers? Like refusing to honor contracts he signed, refusing to pay construction companies, sending family businesses into bankruptcy? Trump would step on you like a bug if you were in his way. I can’t believe how many drank the kool-aid.
Thanks for a roaring laught.Hillery sure got rich off the government by steeping on every person in the United States
Is that you Hillary?
Some people believe any old shit! Even if true killaries crimes make that look saintly!
Kathleen it sounds like you drank the kool-aid.
I can’t belive how many of YOU are still drinking the Hater-Aid !
Hey, as a contractor, I can tell you we HAVE to negotiate when a plan changes, something goes wrong, etc.. I had to cut my price because of an employee’s mistake in some occasions.. Among the thousands of projects he had, people were respected otherwise his brand would have been damaged, and the construction world at this level is a small circle. Like others have said, stop drinking the kool aid.
Your need to take a re-look at you figures Amy. They are much higher from Clinton Campaign.
I am always astonished by the money spend in US elections.
Trump has just proven that good financial sense can get you the end result with out a big huge Budget.
@Kathleen, with all respect, you an most the US population are completely indoctrinated by your main stream media.
With this election a huge portion of the population actually broke through media propaganda. No matter what Trump said, they always twist it and present it in a bad light. Fact most the main stream media commentators have proven to be racists and completely biased, as they and their news outlets are on the globalists payroll. Trump did not get free media, the media tried so hard for him to fail, they actually used up all their air time in the personal character attacks against Trump and his campaign people. Kellyanne Conway must truly get a Nobel price for facing their consistent live attacks and getting branded when she was on air with them, especially those low live self centered people from CNN.
In short and this is with respect to us people, but you really need to get more global knowledge of what is actually happening in the rest of the world.. ( You can not get that knowledge with your main stream propegande outlets)With Trump Elected, World War 3 was just right now averted.
Right on Ron.
Actually, these numbers are incredibly shallow and are not inclusive of monies spent through outside sources directed to influence not only Voters but the Candidates when Legislation is forthcoming.
The lack of depth in this article is incredibly disappointing.
TV and Radio were 4 to one for Clinton, the RNC contributed only 3 mil to Trump’s TV campaign at the last minute when they finally realized, “Hey, He may actually win this thing” when trying to secure some Political Capital they can cash in on some future date…Yeah, Good Luck With That.
On another note I find amusing no one points out, if not for the MSm barrage of reporting the overwhelming victory Clinton was to have, how many of these self-satisfied Democratic Voters decided it was too much effort to vote when it was already a done deal making it far more embarrassing for not only the Media and all it’s “Informed” predictions, but Clinton’s assumptions that she has been the Pre-emptive President Elect throughout with her campaign platform of “NOT DONALD”…LOL
It made his win that much more resounding even though he would have won regardless in my opinion…
So What, the Media can be Biased, I can too…HaHa
