Even The Presidency Would Not Protect Clinton from More E-mail Probes

Congressional investigations of Hillary Clinton’s e-mails and the Clinton Foundation won’t end if she becomes president.

“Hillary Clinton created this problem; I’m trying to untie this big tangled web,” House Oversight Chair Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) told Politico.

“I’d be derelict in my chairmanship if I didn’t pursue this with all the vigor I have,” he added.

A top Republican in the Senate, Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas), issued a similar promise.

“It is clear that major Clinton Foundation donors enjoyed great access to Secretary Clinton while she was serving as our nation’s premier diplomat. … I hope, soon, that we all get some answers,” said Cornyn, a former Texas supreme court justice.“Unfortunately, [FBI] Director [James] Comey’s announcement back in July wasn’t the end of the story… because last month even more e-mails came to light that revealed the line blurred between the Clinton Foundation and the State Department under Secretary Clinton,” Cornyn said, according to Politico.

In a separate interview this week with Hugh Hewitt, Chaffetz blamed Clinton for her own troubles.

“Hillary Clinton chose this timeline, not me,” Chaffetz told the conservative radio show host. “She decided to hold this information for years … now that the FBI has concluded their portion, and by the way, the FBI did not, has not looked at her testimony before Congress, has not looked at other things that she did potentially with the destruction of documents. So that will continue, and we’re going to go full steam ahead.”
