Debate Moderator Chris Wallace Says His Goal is to be “Fair and Balanced”
Fox News’ Chris Wallace will be hosting one of the presidential debates.
He claims that he is not interested in playing “truth squad,” saying it’s up to the other person to know fact check their opponent.
Wallace says he just wants to be “fair and balanced.”

Chris Wallace, who in previous presidential primary debates called out Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for untrue statements, said this week that when he hosts the third presidential debate, he will allow the candidates to duke it out rather than interject himself.
Wallace, anchor of Fox News Sunday, spoke with Howard Kurtz on Sunday about the upcoming debates.
“I do not believe it is my job to be a truth squad,” Wallace said. “It’s up to the other person to catch them on that.”
Wallace said instead his goal is to promote balance and fairness.
“I certainly am going to try to maintain some reasonable semblance of equal time. If one of them is filibustering, I’m going to try to break in respectfully and give the other person a chance to talk,” he said.
Wallace said he believes the debate should be about the candidates, not about him, and that the role of a moderator is different from that of an interviewer.
“It isn’t coming up with a killer question, not coming up with the great follow-up,” Wallace said.
“I see myself as a conduit to ask the questions and basically to get the two candidates … to engage. I view it as kind of being a referee in a heavyweight championship fight,” he said.
“Frankly… these two just plain don’t like each other,” he added. “I suspect I’m not going to have any problem getting them to engage with each other, but I don’t view my role as truth-squading and I think that is a step too far. If people want to do it after the debate, fine, it’s not my role.”
Wallace said that if he is not included in the news coverage of the debate, he will know he did his job properly.

So Trump will have 5 Liberal moderators asking him questions..Poor guy just can’t catch a break..I would have refused to debate until they make it fair..You can bet Hillary will tell them the the questions she wants asked before the debate..IMO..There should be no moderator.Let them debate one on one, but of course Clinton couldn’t handle it.
