BREAKING VIDEO : Suicide Bomber Blows Himself Up Near US Consulate in Saudi Arabia

A suicide bomber has blown himself up near the US consulate in Saudi Arabia, local media reported.

A blast hit US consulate in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, according to local reports. The blast is said to be caused by a suicide bomber.

Two security officials have been injured, according to Arab News newspaper. There were no immediate reports on casualties inside the consulate. Twitter users say the bomber was shot by police in the parking lot.

The blast struck on early morning local time, which marks the Independence Day in the United States.

Saudi Arabia’s security forces shot dead a suicide bomber outside of the US consulate service in the port city of Jeddah, local media reported. The attacker was killed while trying to detonate himself as Americans kicked off 4th of July celebrations.

Two police officers were injured during the attack, Arab News reported.

According to the local Okaz news outlet, the attacker was heading to a mosque next to the consular service when he was stopped by police.
