BREAKING : Ted Cruz Crafting Bill Allowing States to Deny Refugees
Ding, ding Obama’s gone, but many of his disastrous policies are left behind.
That’s why federal lawmakers from Texas, led by Ted Cruz, are standing up for states’ rights regarding resettling foreign refugees.
They’re introducing a bill that would give power back to the states to decide if refugees will be allowed to settle within their borders.
Republican Sen. Ted Cruz and Houston-area Republican Rep. Ted Poe have drafted a bill aimed at allowing governors to deny the federal government the ability to resettle refugees in their state, according to The Hill.
The “State Refugee Security Act” was drafted by the two legislators in response to actions the Obama administration took that allowed to federal government to send refugees to various states, often without the states’ consent.
Crime in those areas rose, and many blamed the refugees, who would not all assimilate and follow the rules of the country they were seeking safe harbor in.
Poe commented that Obama’s “open door policy” did not keep the security of the states in mind.
“Until the federal government can conduct thorough security screenings and confirm that there are no security risks, Congress should empower states to be able to protect their citizens by refusing to participate in this program,” he said, according to the Washington Examiner.
Cruz said that he was hopeful that the new administration would understand the needs for the states to protect themselves, saying in a statement that: “I am encouraged that, unlike the previous administration, one of President Trump’s top priorities is to defeat radical Islamic terrorism.”
“To augment the efforts of the new administration, this legislation I have introduced will reinforce the authority of the states and governors to keep their citizens safe.”
Under the bill, the federal government would have to notify states at least 21 days before it seeks to settle a refugee in the area. If a state governor can certify that the federal government hasn’t offered enough assurances that the refugee does not pose a security risk, the state can then block the resettlement effort.
This is a huge step toward a saner refugee resettlement policy.

I live in Liberal NY, and I think dirty Gov.Cuomo is going to be a problem..I wish Long Island which is Trump Country can break off of NY, and become its own State..hmmm now that Trumps President maybe anything is possible.

California Resident born and raised here 59 years. This needs to be voted by the people here legally only and that is after the voter fraud investigation has been completed and start here first in california. Not only this would gives our california a voice but possibly flipping our state to red did you ever consider that? What are you thinking? Quit back peddeling immigration! We are no fools here in Caly. Don’t disregard California she needs a fighting chance to be restored to what she once was many many years ago a safe beautiful place to live with opportunities, the american dream and the pursuit of happeness and much more. What happens in California can repeat itself in other states and you dont want it. I can say People here are very much afraid of whats going on here we don’t or want more immigrants of any sorts, enough is enough. God is sustaining those who lean on Him, however for others their holding on to what they have left and my America that is each other, we need all american’s to pray for us and stand with us to (MCGA)make California great again. You see while others states are feeling the MAGA, California has been a state that other states are just willing to forget about and that we deserve it, just read about what they say on twitter etc things like “Send all refugees to California they voted for Hillary!” How shameful is that “We the People of California did not in any way shape or form deserve this!” Politcians here do whatever they please and just look what there up to now using our taxpayers $$ to lawyer up against Trump immigration policy etc. Enough said, while a proposed bill would help many states it would not necessarily help the states that elections were aledgedly skewed to put it vaguely. Just think they get here and then they spread secretly into your state while your children and loved ones are peacefully asleep. Would you feel safe then? Wait until the voter fraud investigation is complete and start here in California first BIGLY.
Go to the streets, complain as loud as you can. Californians MUST show to the USA that they disagree with their government, otherwise you will be left behind.
Sorry, maybe should have stated I am a Republican and yes I voted for President Trump whom is going to be and known for as “Our best President ever in History.”
