BREAKING : Starbucks Pledges to Hire 10 Thousand REFUGEES
Looks like Starbucks is one of the few companies who are not interested in putting America First.
On the contrary, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz has pledged to hire 10 THOUSAND refugees over the next five years.

Starbucks says it will hire 10,000 refugees over the next five years, a response to President Donald Trump’s indefinite suspension of Syrian refugees and temporary travel bans that apply to six other Muslim-majority nations.
Howard Schultz, the coffee retailer’s chairman and CEO, said in a letter to employees Sunday that the hiring would apply to stores worldwide and the effort would start in the United States where the focus would be on hiring immigrants “who have served with U.S. troops as interpreters and support personnel.”
Schultz, a supporter of Hillary Clinton during the presidential run, took aim at other parts of a Trump agenda focused on immigration, repealing former President Barack Obama’s health care law and restructuring trade with Mexico.
The letter said that Starbucks would help support coffee growers in Mexico, provide health insurance to eligible workers if the health care law is repealed and back an Obama-era immigration program that allows young immigrants who were brought to the country as children to apply for a two-year reprieve from deportation and a work permit.
The move reflects the increasing complexity that businesses face when dealing with the Trump administration. Trump has met with CEOs at Ford, General Motors and Boeing and asked them to create jobs in the United States, while touting each announcement about new factory jobs as a success even if those additions had been planned before his presidential victory.
But not all corporate leaders have embraced Trump. Schultz added that Starbucks would aim to communicate with workers more frequently, saying Sunday, “I am hearing the alarm you all are sounding that the civility and human rights we have all taken for granted for so long are under attack.”

US citizens should boycott Starbucks… how about employing US citizens… a lot of taxpayer money goes to protecting and allowing Starbucks to operate comfortably and securely in this country, but it would rather employ refugees than tens of millions of US citizens out of work or underemployed. Personally, I think Starbucks is a pretension.

Can someone look into if Starbuck violated non-discrimination act? It looks to me that Starbucks discriminates American because they are from America and they hire refugees because they are from foreign countries. Discrimination based on national origin. Luckily I never go to Starbucks.
This means putting American’s last….they need to be sued for discrimination against American citizens in their hiring practices if they plan on hiring illegals over citizens.

Its still hiring discrimination if refuges with legal papers are given preference over American citizens….that’s the same as hiring whites over blacks or blacks over whites because of color…no matter how you cut it or what you call it, its employment discrimination to not give an equal chance to non refuges to be hired. Once a person is approved to enter the country LEGALLY, then they have the rights you mention.
We have laws in the US which must be obeyed. Each country has the right to decide whether to approve entry on its laws.

There wasn’t one word about religion in that executive order. And the list of countries was compiled by Obama. Additionally, US has always been screening ideology (Nazism and communism) at the immigration. Trump did not start it. More, the primary responsibility of POTUS is to protect America and American, not foreigners. No foreigners has right to come to America. The constitution is about protecting American, not a suicide pack! The US legal system gives broad authority to the president on immigration. And I believe US can even strip the citizenship of a naturalized citizen if he/she does harm to this country.

Reading is fundamental here everyone. First, I can’t boycot Starbucks because I never have been to one. I am not a coffee drinker so I have all of zero reasons to even visit this company. Here is what I read however, “hiring would apply to stores worldwide and the effort would start in the United States where the focus would be on hiring immigrants” which effectively means, to me, that Refugees will be hired in foreign locations of Starbucks and that those that are only in the United States of America, will be hiring immigrants. Ok, so yeah, hire whomever you like, but remember that to be legal for employment these immigrants must have the proper documentation. What people are freaking the hell out about isn’t immigrants or even really refugees, it’s that we expect that if they are going to be here in the good ole US of A is that they do so, legally. If they are coming here peacefully and have no threat about them, then fine come join our country. However, not everyone trying to come into this country are so peaceful or willing to comply with the laws and those are the ones that we do not want here.

So much money on Starbucks every year but I thought they would support our youth and help them pay for their college education. I am not racist and I have been to a lot of countries and in America we always put our ppl last. Why? When I went to Germany everything is in German same goes for Italy, Spain and many many more countries. Here the stores are bilingual everything is in 2 , 3, 4 different languages. When I have a problem with my cell phone provider I’m on hold for 40 minutes trying to get an English speaking person while the Spanish speaking person waits 5 minutes same goes for my cable ! Why? Why can’t we be proud of our language proud of our country proud of our ppl we should help non speaking ppl learn English not make it easy for them to continue using their language. We need to take care of us first then the world ! Hire our youth who needs it too and then if you still have jobs left over hire whoever you want but put our youth first our veterans they deserve it not the rest of the world.

Please read the words explicitly stated. Trumps edict is against REFUGEES from ONLY 7 countries. It does NOT COVER IlLEGAL, UNDOCUMENTED immigrants. A refugee is a person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster. In order to have refugee status a person got through a long vetting process. They are the most vetted of all immigrants. i.e. the safest. Their lives have been scrutinized by nearly every American agency and they have passed and deemed to be safe for entry into the US. What’s more, NOT ONE TERRORIST has been a refugee. “Far from being foreign infiltrators, the large majority of jihadist terrorists in the United States have been American citizens or legal residents. Moreover, while a range of citizenship statuses are represented, every jihadist who conducted a lethal attack inside the United States since 9/11 was a citizen or legal resident,” the New America study says. “In addition about a quarter of the extremists are converts, further confirming that the challenge cannot be reduced to one of immigration.” And in fact telling muslims that we do not want them only fuels the fires for ISIS to do more converting within “You see, we were right. I believe I just read an article that 13 Vetted refuges turned out to be Terrorists and they are being trained to pass the vetting process. To say they are the most safest I believe is not a true statement.
Starbucks is vile. It went downhill in terms of coffee, service, and cleanliness practices. Why is this coffee place so aggressively political and so toxic and wrongheaded? They are becoming a 3rd world company. Who would eat anything from them? Who exactly is investing this company? Add Starbucks to the BOYCOTT list.

if Liberals bothered themselves with an extensive reading and fact finding, to identify the person(s) who caused the refugee crises, in the first place—–and also the reason for getting rid of Libya’s Leader and “attempting” to overthrow the SYRIAN regim—then, perhaps they will realize the madness they had started, in the Middle East, is way too deep rooted and Trump has no choice but to take a tough and decisive actions to fix it.
