BREAKING : Senate Confirms Ben Carson as HUD Secretary
On Tuesday the Senate has cleared the way for Ben Carson to take the helm of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
From The Real Deal:
It’s official: Retired neurosurgeon and one-time presidential candidate Ben Carson is the new head of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs on Tuesday confirmed President Donald Trump’s nomination of Carson as housing secretary, the Associated Press reported. Carson, a former pediatric neurosurgeon who also vied for the Republican nomination for president, was nominated for the position in December, just one month after saying that he likely wouldn’t join Trump’s cabinet, telling the Washington Post that he would be “like a fish out of water.” He has no experience running a government agency and has never been elected to office.
Last week, Carson testified before the committee about his qualifications to lead the nation’s top housing agency. During the first hearing, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren asked Carson if he could promise that no HUD money would benefit Trump’s business holdings. He wouldn’t answer the question directly.
“It will not be my intention to do anything for any American particularly, it’s for all Americans,” he said at the time. [AP] — Kathryn Brenzel

Big whoop…if any department needs to be canned it’s HUD. That would save productive taxpayers $50,000,000,000.00/year and prevent scumbags from ending up in your nice, safe neighborhood.
HUD is a good program, it helps a lot of WORKING Americans. My issue is with those who refuse to work and just allow the government to pay ALL of their rent each month because they are to lazy to work. I think there needs to be more stipulations and regulations for those receiving assistance. There should be a limit on how long a person can receive assistance while they are unemployed. If it wasn’t for HUD, there would be a lot more homeless people. Contrary to what many think, a lot of people who receive assistance through HUD, have jobs, but due to low pay and the cost of living, they would not get by without assistance.
I agree 100% but also they chit the goverment agency by pretending to be separate or divorce so they can continue receiving monetary help when one of them are working if not two. Sometimes they are driving a better car than mine or all they have their I phones and tablets or I pads, gold jewelry and paying at the store with food stamps. That’s not fare.

I agree totally people under 62 do need to work ( that use the system as their crutch) if they want to live in HUD senior housing I live in a very nice Senior HUD housing condo complex and 2 are under 50 and refuse to do anything but watch tv or on computer all day and night. They have never worked and make more than me and have more benefits than I do. I am 69yr old and still work 3 days a week to make it through the month. Worked all my life
Maybe someone will look into the management and upkeep on these HUD apartments and the bully managers who manage them and don’t do good maintenance in small towns in wi…
