BREAKING : School Lunch Program SOARS After Michelle Obama’s Plan is Dropped
Good news for school kids in Pennsylvania, and hopefully beyond – after dropping Michelle Obama’s failed school lunch plan, the program has soared to success!
A Pennsylvania high school’s decision to cancel former first lady Michelle Obama’s lunch program for a free-market alternative was a smashing, and tasty success!

Previously plagued by long wait lines, low participation rates, calorically inadequate meals, overfull trash bins and a burgeoning budget deficit, Penn-Trafford High School’s lunch program is now a hit with students and administrators alike.
“We’ve lost, to date, about $40,000 worth of reimbursement, but our sales are up about $50,000 over last year,” district business manager Brett Lago explained to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Likewise, the participation rate has climbed from 25 to 45 percent, while the trash bins have grown far less cluttered.
“The trash cans were always full, sometimes overflowing,” recalled senior Brianna Lander. “You don’t see that now. People would go up to the snack line and get random junk food, where now you can get an actual meal and eat it.”
Speaking with the Tribune-Review, junior Chase Zavarella attributed the lunch program’s success to the free-market notion of choice.
“You get to choose what you want instead of being sort of funneled in and only having one choice,” she noted. “I think everyone is happier with the new selection.”
Obama’s lunch program is based on the belief that children lack the wisdom to make quality choices in the lunchroom. As such, they allegedly need cookie-cutter programs to direct their eating habits, regardless of their varying ages, sizes and genders.
“(Y)ou can’t say that a 300-pound football player and a 90-pound cheerleader have the same (dietary) needs on a daily basis,” Lago remarked.

I don’t understand how this rabbit food school lunch debacle flew in the first place. Mooch had no authority whatsoever to mandate it to begin with! Zero. None.
FWIW – I think the school boards should have to explain why they went along with it – but that’s just me.

Obamas children did not eat this shit. THEY had special yum yum food at their elitist private school. Had armed guards too. Now Trump needs to rid congress of their special healthcare and retirement plans. One step at a time.

when i was sub teaching i would take a lunch the lunches they serve are terrible i don’t want two fruits and a wheat bun its better for kids to get a lunch they will eat then one that goes in trash i was never fat in school i loved the rolls and cakes and cookies the lunches were some thing you looked forward to. but then again when i was in school we did Pe every day and now kids do it once a week and in middle school a half year. It wasn’t michelle job to change a program that had great lunches. Besides who is she to judge I’m a single grandparent on a fixed budget and i would like it that my grand kids would get a lunch they like and would eat. Rater then use there money to go to vending machines. school lunches need to go back to the good old days The kids of today are over weight because the get no exercise not because of the lunch they eat.
I am a teacher in a middle school and I could post pictures that I have taken of school lunches, but I am afraid I would get in trouble with the school district. I have never eaten in our cafeteria, mainly because it would cost $4 a meal for me and it is not enough food for that cost.
I wish the school that my grandkids or 10 would do the same thing and get rid of that Obama meal plan minor young only 10 87 and they still come home and say they’re very hungry fact the one grandson will eat almost a meal for a snack because he so hungry
