BREAKING : New Bill Would End “Massive Liberal Influence” on College Campuses
College campuses across America have turned into breeding grounds for nutjob professors and faculty who indoctrinate impressionable minds with their progressive, globalist agenda.
An agenda that now includes banning free speech, bullying, violence, and Communist propaganda.
However, hopefully, that’s about to change thanks to a Republican lawmaker in Iowa wants public universities in his state to level the political playing field.
The bill would ask colleges to ake into account the political party affiliations of prospective professors and instructors when hiring to create a “partisan balance” among higher education faculty members.

The Des Moines Register reports that Senate File 288 was authored by state Sen. Mark Chelgren, a Republican. The legislation was filed on Monday.
“I’m under the understanding that right now they can hire people because of diversity,” Chelgren told the Register. “They want to have people of different thinking, different processes, different expertise. So this would fall right into category with what existing hiring practices are.”
The bill seeks to “require partisan balance” of the faculty members who work at institutions governed by the Iowa Board of Regents, according to its text. That means the University of Iowa, Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa.
Under the bill, a candidate would not be hired as a professor or instructor if their political party affiliation on their hire date would “cause the percentage of the faculty belonging to one political party to exceed by ten percent the percentage of the faculty belonging to the other political party,” it states.
Each year, the state commissioner of elections would turn over voter registration records to the universities that are governed by the Board of Regents, the bill states.
“The Board of Regents is opposed to the bill,” spokesman Josh Lehman said in an email to The Washington Post. “We expect our universities to hire the most qualified faculty to teach our students, and we believe in diversity of thought.”
A person who does not declare a party affiliation “need not be considered in determining the political party composition of the faculty,” the proposed bill states.
“We have an awful lot of taxpayer dollars that go to support these fine universities,” Chelgren told the Register. Students, he said, “should be able to go to their professors, ask opinions, and they should know publicly whether that professor is a Republican or Democrat or no-party affiliation, and therefore they can expect their answers to be given in as honest a way possible. But they should have the ability to ask questions of professors of different political ideologies.”

I agree Tom, they will lie and still promote the same carp to get a job. Take away federal and state funding, let colleges hire who they want, they can close down more quickly when students can’t pay the bills for overpriced profs. Let the snowflakes pay for their own crap they want to promote. It’s time for the real dollars to speak, all this talk has done nothing for anyone.
Really? I never had a Republican nut job as a professor but a lot who were either Democrats or further left. I don’t think a private college should be allowed tax exemption unless they are politically balanced.

They want to make a better living in the real world, whereas most teachers spend their whole lives in education, never knowing anything different. They become indoctrinated with the same mindset. That’s going to be difficult to change.

No. Besides easy to strike down in court, performance should be the deciding factor. The ability to be 100% nonpartisan should be the requirement. Violate that and you’re on probation. Violate it again, you’re on unpaid leave. Three strikes and you are FIRED!

THIS ALSO REQUIRES a REALISTIC evaluation of islam’s LEGITIMATE GROUNDS for any RELIGIOUS considerations, SINCE ALL IT’S FOUNDATIONAL TENETS ARE EACH ALREADY AGAINST THE CONSTITUTION of the USA.

So NOTHING in this “BILL” actually confronts the AGGRESSIVE AND IMMORAL TAKEOVER of American Institutions, OF ANY KIND, whether Educational, NEWS media, TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS, or anything else.

To the Moderator, Thank you. I appreciate that it required thinking about. But I appreciate that you did it, I tried to word it so people realize, they don’t even let the Founding Principles be done on the general population that way – astounding how much hard information is NOT taught in some areas, but a nation has a right to self defense.
Sometimes when folks discover the real foundation of some Traditions, then they understand whether it is a good or bad tradition, even contrary to their own first impressions about it.
Reminds me of a time that folks got so upset about Germans after a time of war – and were burning all German books, until a man came up and read from a German Bible – translating as he read, into their language, and another book of beautiful philosophy that agreed with that of the townspeople trying to burn the books – so they all stopped and decided they had a lot to learn, and try not to go off on a wild Rip Snorter without finding out what was seriously at stake.
