BREAKING : Mayor Complies With Trump, Miami-Dade Will No Longer be a Sanctuary City
Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez does not want to lose millions of federal dollars for defying immigration authorities.
Smart man.
On Thursday Mayor Gimenez did the right thing by ordering county jails to comply with federal immigration detention requests
This move will dissolve the county’s stance as a “sanctuary” city.
From BREAKING 911
FLORIDA — The Mayor of Miami-Dade, Florida has reportedly ordered county jails to comply with President Donald Trump‘s orders regarding illegal immigrants.
The move will effectively end the county’s “sanctuary city” policy—keeping millions in federal aid pouring in.
The Miami Herald broke the news: [Mayor Carlos A.] Gimenez cited an executive order signed Wednesday by President Donald Trump that threatened to cut federal grants for any counties or cities that don’t cooperate fully with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Since 2013, Miami-Dade has refused to indefinitely detain inmates who are in the country illegally and wanted by ICE — not based on principle, but because the federal government doesn’t fully reimburse the county for the expense.

so does this mean the city is going to move all of their illegals into city jails in wait to have them deported? or the city just going to release them out on to the street?
I am sure they have to give “ICE” a prior notice, before the release date—then the arrangement will be made for deportation.
The whole purpose is to make sure they get deported before–walking out–and disappear !!!
there is an actual argument for the citys from a fiscal perspective why they dont want to house these people, however, the problem is a result of the fact the us never did its job at the border. that being said there will be some initial burden on cities but truimp has to do this.. in fact trump could say he will reimbuse cities for the first two years of this cost if they comply and then after that the issue should be settled and not result in any substantial financial burden on a city. However, its hard to take many cities seriously on this issue when they can find the funds to defend illegal aliens.
