Congress has ignored and delayed compliance with the Iran nuke deal and recently Congress extended the Iran Sanctions Act that had already been declared as a violation of the nuclear deal by the Islamic Republic of Iran. In light of this move by Congress, senior Iranian officials vowed to continue with their nuclear weapons work and other banned activities as retaliation against the United States for breaching last year’s nuclear accord.
