BREAKING : Illegals Cancel Food Stamps to Avoid Detection and Deportation
The article below, written by a liberal “journalist” at The Washington Post, highlights illegals withdrawing from food stamp programs in order to “avoid detection” and deportation.
Well, good, because those programs are paid for by American citizens FOR American citizens.
Can you imagine if you or I went to Mexico illegally, and demanded their citizens pay our way?
We’d be tossed out of the country.
Rightfully so.
The author of the article paints a bleak picture of “victimized families” who are being starved out by President Trump…..Helpless children going hungry because mean ol’ Republicans won’t help.
Untrue.
We’re happy to help people who are here legally and follow the laws of this nation, and if a child is in trouble, there’s always help available – either here, or in their parent’s home country with family and friends.
What the author of the article manages to do, is make the case that illegals are a burden on our already strained system.
This is why it’s important and humane that we build the wall along the southern border.
That way we can halt the influx of illegals who are not able to take care of themselves and their families.

Luisa Fortin sometimes sits up at night, wondering what her clients are eating. She is the SNAP Outreach Coordinator for the Chattanooga Food Bank — but lately she has done less outreaching.
Since mid-January, five of Fortin’s families have withdrawn from the SNAP program. One, the single mother of three citizen daughters, had fled to Georgia to escape an abusive husband. Another, two green-card holders with four young children, were thinking of taking on third jobs to compensate for the lost benefits. These families represent a small fraction of Fortin’s caseload — she estimates she has signed 200 immigrant families up for SNAP over the past six months — but based on the calls she gets from other clients, she fears more cancellations are imminent.
In the two months since President Trump’s inauguration, food banks and hunger advocates around the country have noted a decline in the number of eligible immigrants applying for SNAP — and an uptick in immigrants seeking to withdraw from the program.
Their fear, advocates say, is that participation could draw the eye of Immigration and Customs Enforcement or hurt their chances of attaining citizenship. Without federal nutrition benefits, many are resorting to food pantries and soup kitchens to feed themselves and their children.

Food stamps are for AMERICANS that need and deserve it. Illegals don’t qualify for JACK SHIT!!! ILLEGAL is the key word here people. They come here, get pregnant & mooch off of us ( the government). They along with their”BORDER BABIES” SHOULD be deported altogether!!!

if we enforce the law when it comes to benefits etc a wall isnt even really nescessary. I still want one but in reality this will be far more effective than a wall . cut the incentive to be here.. thats why immigration wasnt an issue early in this country … people who came here either succeeded or they didnt.. many went back to their original countries… im fine with immigrants who come here and assimilate and produce… thats all we ask
Absolutely . They need to take care of our Vets and our citizens . They can all go back to where they came from . They call them immigrants when they are illegal criminals . They can’t leave fast enough for me .
Sorry, NOT CITIZEN DAUGHTERS! No “Anchor” child is a citizen legally. The 14th Amendment was specifically crafted for the right of previous slaves to be automatically be citizens so they would be have the same rights as all others born in this country to American parents, or at least one. My kids work 3 jobs to survive. And? Are we supposed to grab the Kleenex box now? Do the rich or “well off” even realize how hard things have become for lower income Americans? How out of touch IS this article.

My husband had to go back to work. As soon as he recovered from a stroke. I am disabled can hardly walk. We do not qualify for food stamps. We are told my husband makes to much in SS to get food stamps. No tears from us concerning illegals draining us dry. DEPORT every last one. Build a wall to help keep them out.
Having more anchor baby babies doesn’t seem so smart anymore does it? Having to pick up a third job because you have kids that are not American citizens because they were born here. Sorry, you’re not getting my sympathy what you did was illegal from the beginning and now it’s catching up to you
