I recently contacted NBC in regards to one of their writer (Katie Rich) for SNL tweeting about Donald Trump’s son Barron Trump.
I, like many others were disgusted by this person’s distasteful/disrespectful remarks about a 10 year old boy who’s association to his father has recently made him open to despicable online attacks. My address to NBC and SNL was to let them know that many like me demanded not only a public apology but also the immediate dismissal of that employee. NBC did the right thing by immediately severing all ties to their SNL writer and took swift action by suspending indefinitely that writer..
We live in a world where online bullying can have severe consequences on the bullied. Bullying is usually done by misguided kids towards other kids and have shown that it can lead to very harmful effect like deep depression, low self esteem and even suicide. We as adults should take any and all means necessary to deter and prevent online bullying by making sure the bullies are held accountable and punished accordingly. And we’re mostly dealing on bullying kids on kids.
So, when an adult takes it upon themselves to bully a child because of who his father is, it makes such actions even more despicable.
Bullying, insulting and name callings of adults by other adults is one thing, and that in itself is something to condemn. But when an adult personally attacks a 10 year old boy because he’s the child of someone that the original tweeter dislikes, that is WAY out of line!
This Pete Blackburn should be held accountable and immediately fired for his action.
I am a Canadian in my late 40’s and I do not have a vested interest in your ongoing politics, but what I do have is common sense and decency. Enough to know right from wrong and therefore find it just despicable for your employee Pete Blackburn to take a swing at 10 year old Barron Trump.
