Ted Cruz is reintroducing a bill that will strip Americans who join ISIS or other terrorist groups of their citizenship.
“The Expatriate Terrorist Act” ensures that Americans who join the “jihad” are stripped of their citizenship and won’t be able to use a U.S. passport to return home.
Sounds like common sense safety, so I am sure Democrats will oppose it.

Cruz reintroduced the legislation on Tuesday, arguing it’s a necessary step to combat “radical Islamic terror.”GOP Sens. Chuck Grassley (Iowa) and Mike Lee (Utah) are backing Cruz’s legislation, and Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) introduced a version of the bill in the House.Under the legislation, an individual could have their U.S. citizenship revoked if they pledge allegiance to, work for or serve in the military of a group or government designated as a foreign terrorist organization; commit treason against or try to overthrow the U.S. government, or provide material support to a terrorist group.Cruz’s bill would also let the secretary of State deny a passport to someone who joined or is trying to join a terrorist organization or is a “threat to the national security interest of the United States.”An individual would have 60 days to try to appeal the State Department’s decision.Cruz’s renewal of his legislation comes as the White House is entangled in a legal battle over President Trump’s executive order temporarily banning refugees and nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries.Cruz previously floated that his legislation should be paired with cracking down on the acceptance of refugees from certain countries.
“Congress should act to prevent Americans who have traveled abroad for training from returning here, and to stop the flow of refugees from hotbeds of terrorism in the Middle East that President Obama is determined to bring to our country,” he said last year.

7. Establish Military Tribunals for ANY Islamic/Narco/Other terrorists who are not killed on the battlefield, along with their supporters’ in-country & let those countries decide their fate.
8. ANY Islamic/Narco/Other Acts of Terrorism committed either IN the United States, or overseas by a U.S. Citizen or Legal Resident, will be treated in the same manner as ALL Islamic/Narco/Other Terrorist acts overseas, which will result in 1) Military Tribunal (GITMO), 2) The Terrorist’s family losing their house, vehicles, bank accounts, etc., to be used to compensate the victims, 3) The Terrorist’s family being DEPORTED if not already citizens.

Well Mr. Cruz I can certainly understand your wish to do this and the reason for it. I don’t, however, think it would withstand the scrutiny of constitutionality. the Constitution is a list of enumerated powers belonging to the government and nowhere in those enumerated powers is the power to strip United States citizens of their citizen ship. To can prosecute them for being traitors but you cannot strip their citizenship.
Espousing Sharia law is a de facto act of treason. The implementation of Sharia law is encouraged by the Koran. The very insidious nature of this long term spread of this ideal is what we’re seeing. We gotta stop it.
