The city council of Richmond, California — a relatively poor, industrial community on the eastern side of the San Francisco Bay — voted unanimously on Tuesday evening in favor of a resolution calling for President Donald Trump to be impeached.
The text of the resolution was not immediately available, but the city council agenda listed “a resolution in support of a Congressional investigation regarding the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump.”
The basis for Trump’s impeachment, according to local ABC News affiliate KGO, would be the president’s alleged links to his private business holdings. Critics have claimed that these create conflicts of interest, and possibly violate the Constitution’s Emoluments Clause.
However, there is no evidence that Trump has benefited from conflicts of interest, or that he has done anything illegal to justify the “high crimes and misdemeanors” standard for impeachment. The Emoluments Clause argument is also thought by many constitutional scholars and legal analysts to be very weak.
Donald Trump has been something of an obsession for Richmond politicians. In 2015, the mayor blamed Trump for inciting a hate crime against a local mosque, even though the suspect had praised Hillary Clinton in social media.
Richmond is the sixth-poorest large city in the state, and has the highest public employee salary burden, according to a nonpartisan report issued last year. The report documented exorbitant salaries paid to local officials, such as $560,000 in total salary and benefits to the local fire chief.

First, Richmond, CA is the next town over from Oakland and Berkley btw. Doesn’t get any more liberalized, globalist, and militant than that there. Second, I’m not sure the town realizes this, but maybe aside from Nancy Pelosi and a few militant Democrats from CA, no one else in Congress will really care. Got more important things to do like rolling back all of Obama illegal orders, climate change bs, Obamacrap, budget and tax reform, building a wall, and getting illegals the hell out of the country.
California, city councilman and councilwoman are the ones that need to be investigation and impeachment on them.

I live in the Bay Area and can tell you that Richmond is the worst run city in the Bay. It’s considered somewhat of a joke out here. Glad to see that they have so much time on their hand.

Richmond city council members need to be impeached and jailed immediately. Buncha Useful Idiot blind deceived communist morons.
A simple correction. Because of this law, some federal employees put their investments in a blind trust. This allows them to sidestep the regulation and participate in a matter that might otherwise pose a conflict of interest. But the president and the vice president, despite being executive branch employees, are exempt. The law doesn’t say the president can’t have a conflict of interest. But Congress, under Title 18 Section 208 of the U.S. code, did EXEMPT the president and vice president from conflict-of-interest laws on the theory that the presidency has so much power that any possible executive action might pose a potential conflict.
Similar to Oakland, Richmond is full of crimes, no one wants to go near. They have large black populations, uneducated and unemployed youths. Only things happening there are gang and drug.

Everyone living in the Bay Areas knows that Richmond is one of the worst cities in the State of California if not America. These council members can’t event manage their own city and they want to deal with the government issue? Good lord.
