BREAKING : ABC News Forced to Apologize for “Selective Editing” and FAKE NEWS
On Tuesday ABC News was forced to issue an apology after the Monday night edition of Nightline, where they edited a quote from former George W. Bush press secretary Ari Fleischer to make it sound as if he was attacking White House press secretary, Sean Spicer.
From Mediaite:
“[Spicer’s] briefing made me uncomfortable. It was too truculent, too tough. It looks as if the ball was dropped on Saturday,” Nightline quoted Fleischer as saying.
But Fleischer took to Twitter to complain that he had been taken out of context.
@Nightline proves Spicer right about MSM's dedication to negativity. Here is what I told them in a taped interview: 1/4

"It looks to me if the ball was dropped on Saturday, Sean recovered it and ran for a 1st down on Monday." 2/4

Here is how they chopped my quote: "It looks to me if the ball was dropped on Saturday" after ABC referred to "deliberate falsehoods." 3/4

If this is how the press reports, Trump is right to go after them. 4/4

Flesicher called on ABC News to issue a correction, saying he didn’t really care if he got an apology. As it happens, he got both:
Nightline aired a segment Monday night about the first three days of the new administration including Sean Spicer’s statement to the press on Saturday. As part of the report, we interviewed former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer. In editing the piece for air, his quote was shortened and as a result his opinions mischaracterized. We are fixing the piece online to include his full quote and context. We apologize and regret the error.
Will our dishonest mainstream media ever change their ways and report the news truthfully?

wouldn’t one think that these major news medias would be setting an example not compounding their problems? Maybe they need to report news not opinion. Sounds like they may need a personnel overturn and to revisit their ethics policy.
ABC News needs a complete housecleaning & overhaul. Fake news is a common occurance and needs to stop.
Make that occurrence. Maybe I need an overhaul.!!
Quote was originally aired on Monday night TV programming on the “NIGHTLINE” program but the
Correction and apology was aired via “online” NOT on the original TV NIGHTLINE program.
That’s like printing a front page story and then an apology for it on page 9 amongst the women’s club announcements of the Saturday paper.
We all know it was no error. It was intentional and they got caught and called out on it.
Probably will take a few hundred of being called out on their treachery before they change (not so sure they are capable of honesty) but nice to see them squirm a bit.
Media does same thing with reporting “meadow muffin” crap on environment all the time. Sock and awe sells even if it isn’t anything but “alternative facts” or just plain hogwash.
