President Obama has barred huge groups of potentially dangerous immigrants from entering the United States at least six times.
Which completely undermines the media’s claim that barring Muslims from terrorist countries un-American.
President Obama has barred huge groups of potentially dangerous immigrants from entering the United States at least six times, undercutting his claim that barring Muslims from terrorist countries as Donald Trump has proposed is un-American.
In his first ban, according to a search of White House records, Obama instituted a ban on “immigrants or nonimmigrants” covered by a larger United Nations travel ban. He also included those on an economic sanctions list. Most countries were Muslim.
He cited the very same section of law that many critics of his policies have asked him to use, “section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952.” It says, “Whenever the president finds that the entry of aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, the president may, by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or non-immigrant’s or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”
He used the same provision five other times, one more in 2011, twice in 2012 and twice in 2014. In those, he targeted people aiding Iran, Syria, Crimea, and those involved in war crimes.
Still, in his latest tirade against Trump’s call for a ban on Muslims from terror nations, Obama said such bans violate the American way.
In reaction to the Orlando terror attack, Trump said, “When I’m elected, I will suspend immigration from areas of the world where there is a proven history of terrorism against the United States, Europe or our allies until we fully understand how to end these threats.”
Obama ripped him. “That’s not the America we want,” he said. “It doesn’t reflect our democratic ideals. It will make us less safe.”
White House documents also show that former President Bill Clinton issued six immigrant bans; George W. Bush six immigrant bans; and former President Ronald Reagan four. And in 1980, former President Jimmy Carter banned Iranians after Tehran seized the U.S. embassy.
Below are Obama’s actions:
— July 25, 2011. Barred those under a UN travel ban, or who broke 29 executive orders covering transactions with terrorists.
— Aug. 4, 2012. Banned anybody involved in war crimes, or just about any other crime including human rights violations.
— April 23, 2012. Barred those helping Syria or Iran, or involved in human rights abuses for those governments.
— May 1, 2012. Another block on those helping Iran and Syria.
— April 3, 2014. Banned anyone known to threaten South Sudan.

So just to be clear, you’re pointing out that in six instances Obama banned entry to people either guilty of particular offences, which you specify, or included in a UN travel ban (which also released to particular malfeasance).
Whereas Trump has introduced a blanket ban for citizens of 7 countries, no citizens of which have ever committed a terror attack in the US, and has specifically targeted Muslims by excepting minority religions.
You are very effectively pointing out that Trump is a bigoted fat shithead who has no concern for the safety of US citizens beyond pandering to the racist souls of his moronic hillbilly supporters.

Let me get this straight. Since 9/11/2001 All of the American people have had to go through extreme vetting at all American airports just to fly from point A to point B anywhere in our country . Anytime an Islamic jihadist attempted a new attack at an airport , security got even tighter and more extreme on all of us , like the shoe bomber – everyone had to remove their shoes , the underwear bomber – everyone – from infants to granny’s had to have their privates and breast padded down , or they could opt out to be X-rayed to expose their nakedness . So because of the action of some Islamist Jihadist yes ISLAMIST – we all must suffer through extreme vetting to fly in our own country.
But the Islamist who fly in can’t handle extreme vetting when entering our country at the our airports . When they are the ones who have proven time and time again . That they have along history of terrorism. The Islamist has brought this on themselves , when they have a proclivity to yell Allah Akbar and blowing up , or stabbing random people or shooting up Christmas party’s or gay night clubs and yelling Allah Akbar . Then the time has come to trust the Islamist word more when they say they love death and will kill us , than to believe the words of the liberal left and media saying that Islam is a religion of peace . And its anti-Islamic and bigotry or racist to speak the truth about islam . Wake up folks .
We have so much corruption in the White House … Its pathetic . Trump did what Clinton said we needed to and did himself a couple times and then Obama said this is what we needed to do and he did it I know of a couple times … But now No one seems to “remember or to mention ” this on some of the media stations …. This is what is dividing us … 1st people are too damn lazy to Read everything and the POS media only half reports the facts … Its disgusting … But I will Stand behind our new President and Trust him to Make Our America Safe Again … He is the only President in a long time that Talks the talk and Walks the Walk .. He is doing what he said he would do for us ..
