Anti-Trump Susan Collins, the senator from Maine is feeling the backlash for going against President Trump on the Obamacare vote.
A new poll out shows that 62% of Maine residents polled want someone else representing them.
61% of the people polled said her decision to go against President Trump will indeed change their vote.
This should be a message for all #NeverTrumpers – the American people STAND WITH THEIR PRESIDENT.
Meanwhile, 77% of Maine folks polled said they approve of President Trump.
The new poll from Public Policy Polling (PPP) revealed some unfavorable polling for the Maine moderate Republican. Sixty-two percent of Maine citizens disapproved of Sen. Collins’ job performance, and 62 percent of those polled also said that they would rather vote for someone else in the Republican primary for Maine governor. Forty-four percent of Maine Republicans polled suggested that they would rather support Mary Mayhew, the former Health and Human Services commissioner for Maine.
Sixty-one percent of Maine citizens suggested that Sen. Collins voting against Obamacare repeal made them less likely to vote for Collins for governor. Only 24 percent said that it would make it more likely to vote for Collins.
Seventy-seven percent of Maine Republicans approved of President Donald Trump’s job performance, while only 19 percent of Republicans disapprove of the president.
