Former DNC chairwoman Donna Brazile accused the media of being “complicit” in a “fake narrative” pushed by Russians in an attempt to influence the November election.
Brazile has previously admitted that the hacking contained emails written by her, but that they were setting up a “fake” narrative.
From the Washington Examiner
“We better understand the ramifications [of Russia’s election tampering] because if they can take down a woman of stature like [Democratic nominee] Hillary Clinton with bogus stuff, and then you have to disprove the negative to somehow or another make it truthful, you cannot,” Brazile said. “And when the national media is complicit, also, and carrying on the fake narrative, the fake emails, the spoofing, then you have to go out there and try to make it factual.”
In March, Brazile admitted that she used her former position as a CNN commentator to relay questions ahead of debates to Hillary Clinton during the Democratic primary.
For months, Brazile avoided confirminghacked emails from the campaign showed her forwarding the questions, which were asked at separate debates. But in an essay for Time magazine looking back on the hackings, she said it was true.
