VIRAL POST : A European’s View of Donald Trump

Hello, I’m European (Belgium to be precise) and I’ve been following the US Presidential Election for a while. At first, I didn’t like Trump. Basically, I jumped on the “lets hate Trump” bandwagon… but the more I look into him, the more I fail to find reasons to dislike the man. His internal US policies, I’ll admit, I don’t care about. I would disagree with lots of them (eh, I’m European… socialism is in our mentality), but I’m not a US citizen so I don’t give a dusty crap about what he does internally. It’s your choice and it’s not up to us Europeans to judge what he does in your country. But his foreign policies… I can honestly not find anything bad.

• People claim he will start WWIII… I fail to see with what country? He’s buddies with Russia, he wants to negotiate trade with China, he was against the war in Iraq, he claims Syria is better under Assad than ISIS (which is true)… he does want to bomb the shit out of ISIS but can we blame him? ISIS is a scourge. Hell, our weak EU leaders should have helped Russia in doing this long ago.
• NATO: he’s against positioning weapons in EU against Russia. And I agree. We have no wish for US weapons here to defend us against a country that is not our enemy (Russia). He’s pro-NATO but doesn’t want to use NATO against Russia. I share this opinion. I’m pro NATO… if we use it to ally with the Russians and wipe ISIS off the map.
• He wants to bomb the hell out of ISIS. You mean those crazy lunatics who use suicide bombers in Europe, behead people and toss them off buildings? Hell yes! Bomb the shit out of these savages! Erase them! Why doesn’t Europe, Russia and America team up to do this? Because screw logic right?
• He’s against radical Islam. Well so am I. You come live in Western countries and blow us up and preach hate? Screw you. Get out. Come here and live peacefully, work like all decent citizens and respect our culture and laws and you’ll be welcome.
• Trump wants to raise pressure on China so they exercise their influence over the highly volatile state of North Korea better. This is a good plan. And this is also diplomacy, not war.
• Ukraine: Trump thinks Germany (which is the unofficial superpower within EU) and France should lead in the defense of Ukraine in the Ukraine-Russia crisis. And he’s right! The EU often has constructive talks with Russia when Obama isnt involved. Look at the Normandy 4 talks! We Europeans achieved more during those talks than Obama ever did! And all that with respect towards Russia. We don’t always have to agree with Russia, but we should respect them. Respectfully disagree and talk. Listen to what Russia has to say and negotiate. THAT’S what politics should be. Obama can learn from this.
• Saddam, Kadhafi and Assad should have remained in place. This is what Trump says. And he’s right. Those countries were better off under them than under some radical warlords and savages like ISIS.

So… bottom line, I simply can’t find a reason to hate Trump on his foreign policies. I simply cant. I agree with most of what he says.

Hillary on the other hand… I don’t trust her.

She hates Russia and God knows we need Russia as an ally now more than ever.

I would totally vote Trump over Hillary if I could.
