6 Possible Electoral Maps Where Trump Defeats Hillary Clinton

Yesterday we discussed one simple method for Trump to defeat Hillary Clinton : Win the States Romney won in 2012 – Plus Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania. Today we will look at 6 more scenarios that lead to a historic Trump victory.

Trump Victory Scenario 1 “2000 Deja Vu”

In this scenario Trump-Clinton magically duplicates Bush-Gore in 2000. Bush did much better than Romney in several key states and was aided by victories in OH, CO, NV, VA, NH, and of course, the controversial Florida nail-biter.

Trump Victory Scenario 2 “FL, OH Plus 17 Delegates”

Trump can defeat Clinton by holding serve on the red states won in 2012, plus adding Florida, Ohio and one other state (or a combination of 2 or more states) worth at least 17 delegates. In this example, we use Illinois as the 3rd state. Other combinations that result in a Trump Victory include FL, OH, PA and FL, OH, MI, NH. The most interesting scenario would be FL, OH, MI – Resulting in a 269 to 269 tie and the House determining the next President.

Trump Victory Scenario 3 “I Love NY”

Winning his home state of NY would be a game-changer for Trump. This would allow Trump multiple paths to victory even without carrying FL, OH, and PA. It would also allow him a safety net if he were to drop some 2012 red states such as Utah. In this example, Trump wins NY, OH, MI, IL and still wins handily even though Clinton wins Florida and picks up Utah.

Trump Victory Scenario 4 “Rust Belt Domination”

Trump can defeat Clinton by simply dominating the Rust Belt States, even without Florida. In this scenario, Trump holds serve on 2012 red states and adds OH, IL, MI and PA. Clinton wins Florida but Trump still prevails.

Trump Victory Scenario 5 “The Ronald Reagan”

This is the Trumpnado scenario where he duplicates Reagan’s results in 1984. While unlikely, with Hillary being investigated by the FBI there is always a chance she is implicated at the worst possible time for her campaign, leading to a Trump landslide as Trump waltzes into the white house and Hillary is sent to the big house.

Trump Victory Scenario 6 “The Dominant Victory”

This is a plausible dominant victory for Trump. Start with 2012 Red States and add FL, OH, MI, IL, NH, NV, CO and you end up with Trump 308  Clinton 230
